Don't botherOld and run down, couldn't/wouldn't even supply a toaster. Was quiet though, because no-one else used it. Even the driveways etc were not paved, just gravel. It did have free Wi-Fi though, so all was not lost. The light outside the door was on all night. It was like daylight inside with the lights in the unit off.

'Don't bother'After reading reviews of others experiences at Econo lodge, we stayed. We had room 12... Besides being quite on first opening of the door, the towels smelled of fish and it was quite noisy on the Saturday night- Beer garden at front pub being adjoining to motels car park. Which made it only a few metres away. Choose another

Delightful Winter Break in PirtlandMy partner and I recently enjoyed a two night mid week break at the Econo Lodge in Portland. We stayed in a second floor room in the gracious historic hotel with views over Portland Harbour and with restaurants and other amenities on our doorstep. Our room was large and very comfortable and included coffee and tea making facilities and a huge bathroom. We ate at the restaurant downstairs on the first night and, judging from the large mid-week crowd, its also a very popular local haunt. The food was great (especially Doras scrumptious desserts), there are local wines by the glass and the atmosphere is warm, cosy and convivial, complementing the Portland vibe beautifully. Everyone at EconoLodge from restaurant to reception staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and what a beautiful old world charming building! We didnt see any whales which was the purpose of our visit but we had such a lovely time in Portland we didnt feel as if wed missed out too much.

Value for your moneyWant a comfy bed, clean motel style room in a great location, well this is a good choice. The free continental breakfast in the historic Macs Hotel next door is fantastic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good budget choice if staying in Portland

Dont book itManager provided misinformation and was rude. Breakfast poor, room old, Not maintained, dIrty, a group of dog boxes with old tins for ashtrays at each front door, room stunk of smoke . Disgusting, we refused to stay after seeing the room. Has to be The worst motel in Portland. They had the gawl to request a credit card to cover the mini bar, there was only 2 $3.50 bottles of water in the fridge
