    Not recommended

Booked before reading the reviews (wish I had read them) the place is very old, bed was rock solid, tv tiny and very far away from the bed unless you moved the furniture around to put the chairs in front. No plug for the sink in bathroom or kitchen (despite signs saying you must leave everything 100% spotless or get charged an additional nights accommodation as a cleaning fee) Dirty towels left hanging behind bathroom door from previous guests, both room keys need to be swiped at least 5 times to gain access despite being replaced 4 times. Carpet didnt seem to have been vacuumed from previous guest as there was sand thru the room. Aircon was a window unit close to the ground and very noisy.

    Strictly "BUDGET" accommodation

Sadly a problem with our flight to Melb being late - this place shuts the door at 8pm. Communication with reception was a struggle. Eventually contacted a friend who collected our key. As reception was closed next morning at 11am, did not register. Came back at 5pm but our key had expired! Eventually sorted out but communication was unbelievably poor. Suggest week days at $90 per night is where it should be - not a 30% hike at weekends! Rooms are quite large but they certainly lack by care or maintenance. No light on range hood, Window blind frayed/damaged and allows light in. Suggest a proper curtain. Would not take a lot of thought to make the rooms more comfortable. Did mention a few items to reception upon leaving but feel it may not be acted upon. Not offered wifi.

Simple Budjet Apartment, still worth it.

Far from the city and also hustle bustle of the city. close to the brunswick neighborhood, we really enjoy. Nearby stores are easy for us to find. maybe the receptionist doesn't speak English very well, but they try their best to give it their best.

    Comes free with BED BUGS!

Hosts agreed that there were bugs but decided I should pay more than half the stay anyway. Became agressive when we followed up and denied that there was a problem, in fact said it was us that bought them to the hotel. Because you have to present a card and license before staying, they charge whatever they like. Not good if you are travelling.

    Holiday from hell

Filthy place to stay, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Stayed here for a well needed holiday but got a holiday from hell. As soon as you walk into the foyer the place has a musky smell, when going into the room it seemed nice at first look. After being in there for 10 mins you start getting effected by the dust in the air not to mention trying to sleep in the bed, it feels like sleeping on a slab of cement. We rented a queen room for 7 nights, we used the bunks that were included in our room just shut off by a door as these were softer. We only stayed 2 nights but that was enough. The dust was that thick in the room that you could physically see it floating in the room like snow falling. My partner spent the second night in the car as it was playing up his sinuses to the point where he felt he couldn't breath, also the swipe card for the room deactivated itself to add to everything else that night. If we could have left the second night we would have but had to talk about getting a refund. When speaking to hotels.com they said thwy would have to talk to the reception to find out what was going on and if hey would refund. When they tried to call the reception phones they were apparently not working, seemed very convenient considering she was picking it up in front of me and saying it was working. We were told by hotels.com to leave and they would try calling reception again later to sort out the refund. Before we left we were asked to show them what the problem was so went up and show them all the dust and filth. They said they didn't know about this and that it must be the cleaners cutting corners. I feel this hard to believe since it is so dirty and looks like it hasn't been cleaned for ages. After we left I got a call from the receptionist to ask if we had used the bunks, I explained yes and the reason why but he told me that wasn't part of the price and it would cost more to clean it. In the end they only wanted to refund us for 3 nights. thanks to hotels.com they made up the difference. Sorry about the rant but I don't want anyone else's to have a holiday from hell like this again.
