  Make no mistake about it, this is absolutely not a 4 star hotel.

  I stayed at this hotel because I was deceived by the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. I thought it would be significantly better than it actually was. It was dreadful. The entire hotel is in disrepair and the staff unattentive, unhelpful, and unsympathetic. I knew this wasn't the Four Seasons, but I expected it to at least be adequate for me and my family to sleep. I was greeted by no one, after ringing the bell, the clerk finally came to check me in. She looked like she had just rolled out of bed. There may not be a dress code for employees at this hotel, but I'm sure last nights sweats would not suffice for proper work attire. I was given a key and pointed toward my room. After walking through the door, I immediately noticed humidity and a musty smell. I shrugged it off and unpacked. I put my kids to bed and went to take a shower. Inside the shower, I noticed that the ceiling was dirty and had what looked like mold growing on it, which explains the musty smell. I informed the night clerk of the mold issue, and she haphazardly issued me another room, like it happens every day. No sorry, no apology, just a here is your new room and key. So I had to wake up my kids and move all of my stuff to the new room right across from the incredibly loud TV in the lobby. I was going to just leave and find a non-fleabag hotel, but it was too late in the evening. The room was tiny, and on top of the mold issue, both rooms were in pretty bad shape. The wall was beaten up, the lampshade was torn up, the caulking on the tub was horrible, the coating on the tub was peeling off (in both rooms) and there was stuff all over the walls (hair and other unidentified stuff). And to top it off, the ice machine was out of order. I didn't bother staying for breakfast, I really didn't want to stay there any longer than I had to. Checked out and wasn't asked how my stay was. So I didn't tell him. I ended up contacting Choice hotels customer service and they issued me a partial refund. They wanted to issue me reward points at first (really) but I was unwilling to accept this feeble attempt at making up for this dreadful hotel experience.

  Great for a group overnight stay

  I travelled with a group for a sporting event. Someone on the trip chose the hotel and arranged a fabulous group rate. I wasnt thrilled having had bad experiences at Econolodges in other states in the past but I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and had great HVAC. The hotel staff was amazing. I would stay at this hotel again. The front desk staff were super! The staff deserves 5+ stars fir being so great. Ill definately consider trying Econolodge again after this great experience.

  Convenient location

  This place was clean & was in a convenient location to get to multiple places quickly. I needed easy access to UPMC passavant & this was close enough without paying double the price I would have paid at hotels next to the hospital.

  Very nice

  A little late arriving, close to state highway. Room was very clean except leftovers in the fridge haha. Beds comfortable and breakfast was adequate to give you a start. Internet worked well. Area was very quiet.

  Great value lodge

  This is a well managed, well maintained, clean facility with a well trained and friendly staff. It is an outstanding value in the $70 to $75 price range per night. It is not a high-end high-priced facility.
