  What a Dump!

  This place is a dump! The window heating/cooling unit is loud as is this place! The carpet is FILTHY/stained! The room stinks! Literally. $20 more PER DOG for the extra cleaning? PULEASE! What a rip off! What a dump! Find somewhere else to stay. This place should be demolished.

  Old Motel

  This is an old motel, 3 miles from Munising. This facility doesn't quite meet the EconoLodge image after several stays at other Choice properties. A two-story, exterior corridor, motel. Quite dated. Local options are limited. Our bed was comfortable and we did have a quiet night as the property sits back away from the highway out front. Price was high for this type of property. Restaurants are three miles away in town. Breakfast was served in the main building with looked like it has hosted small conventions in it's day. Typical fare. The property is somewhat close to one end of Pictured Rocks Nat'l Seashore.

  $145.50 a night disappointment...In January

  $145.50 a night? ($129.00) This place is OLD and outdated. $50-80 a night at best. Paint falling off the ceiling, repairs were made as cheaply as could be done, stains in bathrooms. You would think the money they charge that they would do updates? But I guess if I'm stupid enough to stay here then they don't need to. It's funny they also charge an additional $5 for breakfast that was a joke!

  Could have been better for the price

  Having completed our 4 day North Country Trail hike a day early we needed a room for one night. Being the Memorial Day holiday weekend I figured we would have trouble finding a place. We called this Econo Lodge and got lucky to hear they had availability. Exhausted, hurting, dirty and hungry we took a room for $156.00. Looking forward to a clean room, soft bed, toilet, and hot shower we were disappointed. The staff was kind and pleasant. We got our room 239. When we got to the room the floor had not been swept. Sunflower seeds laid randomly all over the floor. My husband found a red sticky substance in the bathroom sink. We did have a great hot shower and clean towels. The beds were soft and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was typical. Bread, bagels, muffins, donuts, oatmeal, cereal, sausage patties, hard fried eggs, yogurt, coffee and juices seemed to be standard affair. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the room and breakfast for $156.00.

  Dive Econo Lodge would be an understatement!

  This was by far the most disgusting place Ive stayed in. This room shouldnt be a room that youd pay over $30 for. It smells, has black mold near the ceiling in the bathroom, the hide a bed was broke and they pulled in a cot that had pee stains all over it. There were cracks in the walls. The pictures on their site dont even compare to what reality is. I grew up poor, lived in bad places and this was one step above a crack house. The other pictures I have are with my kids and I wont share it. The bedding on the king bed consisted of a sheet and a decorative sheet. No blanket, no warm cozy comforters. The staff was very kind to me, but for a nationwide company this was unacceptable in every way. My daughter asked if she could sleep in my truck because it was cleaner.
