  Slept like a rock!

  Evening and morning desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, good water pressure, ac/heater worked well, wonderful king size bed. Enjoyed our breakfastfruit was not the standard banana and appleI had a wonderful red pear I think. We will stay here again.

  Rest before Warrior Dash

  I came to the Econo Lodge in Conyers the Friday evening before the Warrior Dash in Covington. I usually have stayed in Covington, but this time stayed here to have more restaurant choices nearby. The hotel is a run of the mill, older exterior entrance hotel. It is in fairly good shape overall & was clean, but some of the furnishings are showing their age. I also had to go back to the desk for wash cloths as there were none and other amenities were limited. The evening desk lady was very nice. I think for price/value, it was a little overpriced ($74 with taxes), but I have stayed in worse for the same or more. Good place to sleep for the night, but not for days at a time.

  Overwhelming disgust

  I booked this Econo Lodge on the Choice app. on my phone. I know that this is at the lower end of the Choice Hotels brand but it was a stop on the way to our final destination. I had reserved a non smoking room for many reasons - not the least of which is my asthma. I have cough variant asthma and cigarette smoke is one of my number one triggers. The room we were given had a very strong smoky odor and the bathtub was so disgusting with mildew that I wouldn't allow my husband and son anywhere near it. I went to the front desk to complain and was given another room. This room had an equally strong smoky smell but they assured me it was non smoking in spite of the ashtray. The bathtub was an improvement though still not great. The TV remote did not work - went down for new batteries, still wouldn't work. The hair dryer did not work. The floor was sticky everywhere. There was an ironing board stand but no iron or ironing board. There was a coffee maker but no cups. The hotel advertises convenient outlets on the nightstand of every room - not present. There were only two washcloths and when we asked for another we were given a hand towel because there were no more washcloths available. It took 36 hours for me to be able to stop coughing from the smoke odor and the clothing we had on had to be put in a plastic bag and kept away from everything else. Our suitcases remained closed. Breakfast was a joke so I won't even take the time to describe it. This room cost $89. I have stayed in far better for less money. I have removed the Choice app from my phone and will not be staying in Choice hotels again.

  Canceled stay that I wound up getting charged for

  I had stayed here back in April for the Warrior Dash with no major issues. I had booked again for August 16th in thought that I was going to do the Rugged Maniac Race. I realized a little while back that it was going to interfere with other plans, so I canceled on the Choice Hotels app where Im a rewards member. I check my account this morning (8/17) to find Ive been charged and the showing of the cancellation on the app is now gone. Apparently the owner of the hotel has the power to un-cancel reservations and charge people. I call corporate customer service and they were no help at all (outsourced Indian operators) telling me it wasnt canceled when I know it was. I wish I had screenshot the cancellation, but I didnt & looks like Im out $75 for nothing. If this is how Choice Hotels does business, I guess they just lost mine and a few others.

  In need of updating

  Booked a stay here as a quick overnight trip to Atlanta. We had a non-smoking room, but upon opening the door, it was obvious that someone had been smoking in the room. The room was need in updating badly. there was a big stain on the comforter on the bed but the sheets were clean (I think). We went to the breakfast in the morning....not impressed at all. There were a few cinnamon rolls, and some cold cereal. No fresh fruit, waffle maker. We grabbed some coffee, then got on the road and stopped somewhere else for breakfast. If we had been doing more than just sleeping there for one night, I would've refused to pay for it and gone somewhere else. Next time we go to the Atlanta area we'll stay somewhere else.
