    Overnight stay

We enjoyed our stay at this motel. We were greeted by a very pleasant manager / owner and we were made to feel very comfortable. The room had been upgraded and was beautifully clean. We especially like the fact there are no bedspreads which previous occupants may have lain on, and just crisp clean sheets, with a coverlet folded to the bottom. We have stayed at this motel before and would definitely stay again.

    A "bugger" of a place

My wife and I stayed at this motel for one night on the return leg of a NSW road trip. We chose the motel because we are members of the hotel chain it is affiliated with, and the price was reasonable. Despite the exterior being a bit an eyesore, the interior appeared to be fairly clean, so we unpacked and settled in for the evening. While laying in bed watching TV, we noticed that there were some kind of small bugs (like fleas?) crawling on the pillows and bedsheets. We found that they were congregating around the bedside tables by the dozen, so we searched the apartment for some kind of insect spray, but found nothing. I put on a dressing gown and went down to the office to complain, but the lights were out and the place was locked up, so basically, we were in a pickle. My wife and I stripped the bed and killed as many of the flea-like bugs that we could find, but it took a fair while because they were jumping everywhere. Finally when we thought we'd got everything under control, we turned off the lights just in case it was the light that they were attracted to. It seemed to work, but unfortunately a few strays hung around and buzzed our heads throughout the night. The next morning they were back, so as soon as the clock hit 7:30am (opening time for the onsite office), I went down to the office again to see if they had any bug spray I could borrow. The woman on duty greeted me when I walked in the door, but seemed to find the story amusing when I said that our room was infected by bugs. She said "Oh, they're back are they?". I wasn't impressed by her flippant attitude. I asked her if she had any bug spray that we could use, and she then went into the back room for a minute or two. A man they came out (seemingly her husband) and handed me a near-empty can of Mortein, and said "We haven't got much left ... give that little bit a go". Well, I emptied what was left onto the areas where the bugs were (by now the entire apartment), and rather than hang around and have breakfast, we simply packed the car again and hit the road. What could have been a pleasant stay was ruined by "a", the bugs themselves, and "b", the seemingly lack of interest by the owners/managers. I suspect being a so-called "pet friendly motel" might be the source of the problem, but who knows? And, one would think that at the very least, that each room would have a can or two of bug spray; nine out ten other establishments do. Certainly the motel's management can challenge the above comments and post their denials if they wish ... that's their prerogative. I'm merely reporting the facts as we found them, and future guests can make up their own mind should they encounter the same situation.

    Reliably good accommodation in Cowra

I have stayed here now a couple of times, The host - Ian has an eye for detail and service. The rooms are spotlessly clean, well appointed and maintained. Breakfast is good, dinner is available if needed. Each room has parking and some is undercover. Wifi is also good. Thank you again for a good and comfortable stay.

    Pleasant stay

We stayed for couple of nights. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Ian who was pleasure to deal with. We found him to be a very friendly, courteous and polite. He checked with us the next morning if everything was alright and also offered few tips on where to go and what to see in beautiful Cowra. Thank you and we will call again. J&M
