  Good stopover!

  We were particular in choosing accommodation when it came to price comfort and cleanliness and when we were on the net looking for a place to stopover on our way to Grand Junction it appeared Econo Lodge had it all. The room had all we wanted but the only thing which would add to more comfort was having larger bedroom space instead of having a huge bathroom. The hot breakfast was good with varieties

  Works Well With the Bustang

  I needed a place to stay the night before catching the Bustang (an intercity bus service funded by the Colorado Department of Transportation) back to my home town, Denver. In the winter the Bustang departs from the Econo Lodge at 6:05 a.m., so if you don't live in Gunnison you need to stay close by if you are going to make it to the bus on time, as there's no other public transit operating at that hour. The Econo Lodge works well with the Bustang. Although there are other comparable hotels nearby, none is closer to the pickup point than this one. The Econo Lodge offers a free breakfast, but it's scheduled to start at 6:00, which provides essentially no time to get food before the bus is on its way. Hotel staff told me the night before that it's not unusual for them to open the breakfast early, and sure enough, on the morning of my departure, it was open at 5:15. If a guest/rider doesn't want to gamble on that, there is a McDonalds that's a five-minute walk down the street, that opens at 5:00 a.m. every day. The motel itself was what one would expect from an Econo Lodge: Clean, simple, nothing fancy, but safe and predictable. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom efficient, and the free wireless internet worked well. The walls are paper thin, so I recommend using earplugs for sleeping if you are comfortable doing so. The motel offers a hot tub, and I heard the clerk telling another guest about it. I wasn't going to use it. and in any event it had a "temporarily closed" sign on the door about an hour after I checked in. I was very pleased with the Bustang on this roundtrip from Denver for business. I would use it again, and when I do I would stay at the Econo Lodge again the night before the return trip back to Denver.

  Clean

  In town for sports, a friend recommended staying here. It is a little worn, but clean and comfy, staff friendly. Overall no complaints. We had a king room with HUGE bathroom. Didn't partake of breakfast, but seemed well stocked, bacon, eggs, waffle machine, coffee, juices, yogurt..

  Great surprise

  I really wasnt expecting much from an econolodge but I was pleasantly surprised. Easy check in, clean rooms, friendly service. Good location close to restaurants. They brought breakfast to the room due to COVID. It wasnt really good, but a nice effort. Would definitely stay here again.

  Worst!

  Do not stay here. First we were greeted by the sign with a political message. Not cool econolodge. Maybe you need to focus on a better guest experience! We stayed in the family room with 3 queen beds. The room was in some sort of annex tacked on the end of the building. The floor was a vinyl tile that hadnt been cleaned in a long time. It was covered in dirt and hair. The beds were extremely poor quality. They were all sunken in and crazy soft. They need to update. The next morning we had spiders coming out of our bags. I mentioned these things to the front desk and she acted like that was normal for that room! They did make an attempt to have breakfast by preordering by phone. We stay at a lot of choice hotels but this one was not up to par!
