Not really 3*Modern hotel with nice public areas, pool and rooms but with poor maintenance. Our room 101 had bulbs that didn't work, a sink that had no plug plunger and the air conditioning was terrible and noisy. The hotel was short staffed and they didn't really understand when I tried to explain our issues. Every time you want something from the bar you have to go to reception. The wine was cheap and some of the breakfast items too.

Nearly a great hotelStaff were nice and the hotel is lovely. Pool and sun loungers were in a clean area. Breakfast was great. However, on arrival and being shown our room we were advised that many guests found the air con noisy at night and slept with the balcony door open. Good in principle but in reality the noise from the town carried over and it was like trying to sleep in a disco. The air con was not just loud but simply didn't work (I was with a heating engineer). Real shame as this just shouldn't be happening.

Average StayWe stayed here for 1 night at the end of our trip around Lake Garda. The Hotel: The hotel itself is quite modern, with great parking and great Wi-Fi. The Room: We were given a room with a large terrace which overlooked the pool area. The room itself was a good size, clean and with blackout electric exterior shades which was great. My only issue with the room was that the mini bar was empty and there was one bottle of water - very eco, that being said the staff didnt mind if you take drinks up to your room from the bar downstairs. The bathroom was clean, quiet compact but has all the amenities. In your room you are required to separate all your trash for recycling and put it in the recycling bins located in the hallway, this was a cool part of the eco feel. Theres a 50 charge if you dont separate or leave the trash in the room. The Staff: The staff were friendly and helpful - it feels family run. The Location: This hotel is located to the north side of the town, we walked down to the main town to get dinner which was a 15 minute walk, we could have taken the car (would have only taken only a few minutes) but didnt want to have an issue trying to parking. I would say the hotel is in a quiet, good location.

Good baseWe stayed in a 1 bed apartment that was modern and very clean. Staff were very friendly. Sofa beds in the kitchen/lounge area were 2 individual ones that suited our older children and just enough space to leave them up in the day time. Good WiFi and air con(although a bit noisy to have on at night). Beautiful views across the mountains and a balcony off each room. 15 mins walk to restaurants and bars and a further 15 mins to the centre of town. 5 mins in the car and easy to park. Being a bit out of town the location was quiet and suited us well. Parking directly outside or in the underground car Park. Only downside was the pool which was small and had limited beds/shaded areas. Riva is a great base for exploring the North of the lake and we would revisit.

Birthday Holiday!!Me and my partner decided to stay at this hotel for my partners birthday. I booked it for him as a surprise and upon arrival we were thoroughly impressed! We had a double room with a balcony and it a was comfy and modern fit for us!! The balcony was small with a table and two chairs one for each of us. It had an amazing view over looking the mountains surrounding us. We spent numerous days by the pool which we enjoyed, being in the end of June it was extremely warm weather (30°c). The hotel was quiet and had a nice atmosphere to it, the staff was very warm and welcoming. Especially this old lady who worked there, I didn't catch her name but she didn't speak any English but tried her best to help me and my partner. Especially since we both suffered severe problems while we were there. I, myself got a series of severe bites all down my legs which were very irritant and the staff at the hotel helped me the best they could in providing an ice pack they even got some anti-bite cream to help with the irritation. Despite the staff not being able to speak ANY english... When we left the compound it was an adventure in of it's self. If you walk 10 mins from the hotel you will approach a series of shops and restaurants. The restaurants are amazing and the majority of them feel welcoming, however most of the of course accommodates classic Italian cuisine. Down this strip you can also go to the Lake's edge where you can swim in it admire it's beauty. However on all maps this little alcove is named a beach, but I wouldn't really call it a beach... it's more like a park where you can splash in the lake. Other than this if you walk 20 mins after leaving the hotel to will walk into the town centre, don't do this on a hot day or you will regret it (especially when you have a ginger as a boyfriend..) but I can't really comment on the town as we barely even spent any down there. However the only reason I'm putting it down to 4* instead of 5 is because when we were leaving (had to depart at 5am) we couldn't exit the premises because the gate was locked, we had to climb over in the end. But I do think that this is down to human error and that we should have asked how to leave beforehand. But I do recommend this hotel to stay at if you ever think of staying in Riva Del Garda. I hope you have a great time in Italy!!
