  Safe and welcoming

  Covid measures effectively in place with excellent signage as reminders. Reception staff all very helpful and friendly. The owner had also been very friendly and helpful when I checked my booking the day before. I was in Room 33 on the top floor and happened to be in Eastbourne for 2 very stormy nights. I LOVED hearing the wind in the room and in the bathroom(exacerbated by me having a side window ajar I later discovered!) but if you are a light sleeper I suggest a room away from the wind if storms are predicted!! The room had a fresh, relaxing decor, As mentioned in other reviews there was a bit of a 'WHIFF' in the bathroom but I put that down to it being an old building with associated drainage problems. I loved the quirkiness of this building and loved the hotel decor. The breakfast under Covid circumstances, was fine. My warm boiled egg sandwich was actually rather tasty! I would happily stay here again. As I was leaving another gentlemen told me he is in Eastbourne frequently and has stayed at many of the hotels but sticks with East Beach now as it is the best!

  Second visit, won't be our last!

  Another great stay at this perfectly situated hotel. We were greeted by the lovely Ilana and given the new covid rules and explained how breakfast would work with the closure of the restaurant(choose from a very extensive list and your breakfast delivered to your room), then off to out suite, number 28. It was a beautifully decorated,large room with wonderful views across the sea, the pier and the downs. Everything was spotlessly clean and certain items had been individually wrapped to keep sanitised. The breakfast was delicious and fresh and hot. And enjoyed in the lounge of our room overlooking the beach. The bathroom was massive with a huge corner bath and a tv to watch dvd's. A lovely treat for my 9 year old! Overall a lovely stay again in a hotel who are following the covid rules to the letter but still allow the guests to have a great break away.

  nothing special

  Came along with my son to spend some time over the seaside, walks and pier and choosen the hotel for rating, price and location. No drinks available during the stay (not even water) apart from tea or coffee on desk of room. Tv useless as most of channels were unreachable for poor signal Bathroom spacious but old and smelled with Window very dirty Shower basically played 10min to get to correct temperature (despite the signs on wall of water saving.....) Breakfast due to Covid offered to be served in room (a plus) but hot/cold sandwiches were "thrown" in a bag, so basically breakfast sandwiches (not bad) were unedible due to the fact they were disassembled with all toppings at bottom of bag, 1 plastic knife only so had to eat it half with fingers, the rest in the bin. why not a simple box or platter, it would cost you less and better presented or better not to offer such dishes, coffe or Tea and cake would have been better and not wasted. view was excellent with balcony and staff at reception were kind and polite . dont know if i shall come back. GoodLuck guys....

  Nice

  Firstly, the staff on reception were friendly and very helpful. Our room and shower and loo were spotless. Very pleasant room with a great Seaview which was lovely to look out on. The bed was huge with plenty pillows and 2 nice easy chairs and a table in the room. The reason I have only given 4 stars is the size of the shower room and toilet, we had to go in sideways and if we were any bigger we wouldn't have fitted in!! So tiny. Breakfast was different due to restrictions, and they did their best but it wasn't for me. If it had been served on a plate it would have been fine but a hot bacon and sausage sandwich served to you out of a takeaway foil bag equals soggy bread I'm afraid. Such a shame. All the hotels along the front had their dining rooms open so I find it strange that this was closed. But a nice clean hotel in a great position with plenty pubs and restaurants nearby.

  Great Expectations Met!

  We stayed at the East Beach hotel for 6 nights early December. The hotel surpassed our expectations from checking in with the manager Dasa who promised us a room with Seaview. The hotel was very festive from the outside to the sun lounge areas. Checking in went smoothly and our room was on the top floor which we requested. The room was very clean and the standard of furnishings snd bedding were Imaculate. Very large bed with ample pillows. Due to Covid we had breakfast delivered to our room each morning snd we had tea coffee etc already provided in the room. The only slight negative was the shower pressure was not the best. The views were stunning watching the sunrise and set each day! The pier was 4 minutes away. The staff were very welcoming and provided a good service. Wifi was good as was the large flatscreen TV. We had room 20 which is classed as standard. We will be visiting this hotel again and will book the corner rooms which look even better! Thank you Dasa and team!
