    Quite and clean guest house

Stayed at this guest house for 3 nights. I think it's now call "East Airport Guest House". It's a very quite and clean place. The environment reminds one of home . The setting is not like typical hotel , it's very private and quite. The staff at your beck and call. I really enjoyed their lounge , open air, not crowded and overlooks the international airport so you get to see lots of airlines landing at the airport. All in all Its a great place to stay over .

    very decent place

I was at this place for a couple of days . The staff are very polite and willing to do anything to make guests comfortable. Its a very quite and decent place. I enjoyed their bar which overlooks the airport. The manager seems very nice and hands on. The rooms are really spacious and clean for the price paid.

    A Horrible Experience: Avoid

I stayed at this guest house for one night in November 2015 during a gap in my stay at another hotel. Sorry to say there is nothing positive whatsoever to report about this place except perhaps the courteousness of the lady at the front desk during the night. First it's located in a place off an untarred broken road well off the main road. The manager gave me a rate of 195 GHC and said I could pay in dollars however when I got there at 1 AM with essentially no choice, he said the dollar equivalent is $55 which was naked robbery because the worst exchange rate anywhere would put it at $50. This gentleman was also extremely inhospitable and downright rude. His explanation was that the cost of using generators is high. Well that's not my business, you have to stick to your advertised rate and stop this bait and switch. After that we got showed to a room which was spacious but turned out the TV didn't work, wifi didn't work, mosquitos were humming through the night, and they turned off the power at 4:00 AM making the place pitch black, hot, and sleeping impossible. The room itself was not clean, the walls needed repainting, and you could see accumulation of dirt at where the walls meet the floor. Overall the trip was a nightmare and we left at 5:00 AM immediately there were signs of light in the sky. For $55 I wasn't expecting anything fancy however I'm extensively traveled and you would get way better for much less including in Ghana. The place has undergone a name change to East Airport Guesthouse perhaps to run away from their rightfully earned bad rep. Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid like the plague!!!

Very close to the airport at a price well under it's neighbouring competitiors

I've read the reviews and beg to differ totally with the "terrible" one. The staff were very friendly - I met both the manager and the front-desk lady, who prepared us breakfast at 6:15 a.m. so we could reach the airport for 7:00 a.m. She also ordered a taxi and we paid 20Ghc. Our room was huge, the bed comfortable and clean, the bathroom was also totally acceptable. Yes you do arrive down a non-asphalt road but this is Ghana, and sometimes you need to accept this. Consider the rates of other nearby hotels, this really is superb value. Would happily return. Now known as East Airport Guesthouse, by the way.

    Some good...some not so

When I originally made the reservation, I didn't realize our executive suite was on the top floor of the guesthouse. When we arrived and were told this, I advised the staff member who registered us that I was physically unable to climb stairs. She graciously gave us another room on the ground floor but unfortunately that switch didn't eliminate the stairs problem as every room requires climbing at least 7-8 steps. Our room was very spacious and comfortable although I would have appreciated a table and chairs to eat our meals at as the guesthouse has no restaurant and there is none within easy walking distance. My friend walked to the nearest restaurant almost every night and brought back our dinner but we had to eat it without a table. Additionally, the seat on the toilet was broken and fell off almost every time it was used; we complained but to no avail. Power outages were quite frequent and lengthy which was certainly not the fault of the guesthouse but the fact that they seemed disinclined to use the generator so that we could have air conditioning or at least the ceiling fan was unacceptable. The fact that we were practically the only guests at the time should have made no difference. Linen changes were haphazard, sometimes only every 3 days, never more often than every other day and cleaning was spotty at times. Francis, the man-about-the-house, was hard-working and amiable; Linda was friendly but frequently needed a nudge to do her job. A burned-out ceiling bulb was't changed for almost 24 hours. All in all, I would stay there again although the location wasn't convenient for the business we needed to transact. However, it was quiet and peaceful without traffic noise or crowds of people and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. This has been a rather lengthy review but wanted to cover the important points. Breakfast is provided and although a little sparse, was delicious and filled us until lunch.
