  clean and comfy

  We stayed for 3 nights just after they had re-opened post lockdown. The rooms aren't big, but they clean and comforable, which was all we were looking for. Breakfast is excellent, I always look forward to their bacon butties, and really appreciated the option to have a takeaway breakfast bag one morning when i had an early start. We were visiting family so didn't eat at the pub apart from breakfast, but made the most of the riverside beer garden, and cosy pub in the evenings.

  3 night stay

  Very enjoyable stay with a lovely breakfast which was first class: plenty of fresh fruit and their full Cumbrian is a sight to behold ! Even their bacon buttie (3 thick slices on sourdough) was filling enough to be honest. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope that they reinstate tea / coffee in their rooms as that was the only negative point.

  mid week break

  stayed 3 nights room very clean facilities good breakfast was very nice everything you require and sets you up for day ideal location for visiting local golf courses nice beers in pub itself in a fine setting by river kent nice restaurant in pub with nice menu choice made to feel welcome by friendly staff and management hope resurgence of eagle and child continues after lockdown

  A good night despite power cuts!

  Reasonable Covid precautions although the system for ordering drinks before being taken to a table caused a bit of a bottle neck in the bar. Having said that, tables were sensibly spaced and the room we sat in was well aired. The food was enjoyable and the staff friendly and efficient despite the evening being plagued by power cuts.

  Lunchtime Visit

  Stopped for lunch here today. Staff all extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. Food was great! Covid precautions very good. Lovely pub for a mid walk refuel and even had dog biscuits for our puppy!
