E Hotel Larnaca
This is a relatively small hotel some 6 or 7 km from Larnaca airport and on the wrong side of Larnanca itself, so it does take a while to get from the hotel to the city. Nevertheless, if you can put up with the location - close to a pebbly beach and in a very quiet area - this is the place to stay. Price is good and the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms are a good size with a good bathroom but a small balcony. Take a room overlooking the pool - stunning at night. Breakfasts are very good but the eating area is small and there is an overspill into the main dining area which can be inconvenient. We used the equipment in the gym and were pleasnatly surprised at the quality. Honesty? We left a bottle of Whisky in one of the rooms and rang reception to advise the. A week later we picked it up! In our country it would have been drunk or sold! Access to the hotel and to the local village of Pervolia is good and the only down side would be the fact that the hotel is right on the main road. But traffic when we were there - April- was almost non-existent. Great stay

First impresions DO NOT mean anything
Although at first we thought "finally a close enough place we can plan weekend escapes" the do not judge a book by it's cover, phrase "came to life". At first we tried to go to the hammam only to be informed that it does not work. Then we decided to go to the hydromassage pool, which thankfully worked but when inside and trying to relax we found ourselves discussing the fact that there was no lighting besides the door, mold was in every corner, as well as where the lights should be and some cabling (hopefully not electrical but for the speakers) was hanging from some places. Later we decided to swim at the pool. when there we found out that some sort of insects where swimming everywhere. Because we didn't know what that was and we had our 6months sons with us we packed up and went to our room only to find the housekeeping washing the two coffee cups the hotel was providing, in the bathroom sink. When we asked her if they had other cups she politely replied that that was hotel policy and she didn't have other cups to give us. Unfortunately we prepaid the entire stay and couldn't leave without loosing our money. I feel bad for all the staff at the bars and restaurant of the hotel, as they are really helpful and willing to accommodate any request but the management obviously gave up on the place some time ago. It's our first time feeling this disappointed about a hotel we visit.

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE CLOSED
My wife and I have stayed at the so-called E Hotel in Pervolia (Larnaca) many times, but weve never had a happy stay there. We visit Cyprus only for business purposes so we stay at the E hotel only for sleeping purposes; but we have decided never - repeat never to stay there again. The hotel internet service does not have a valid security certificate and Microsoft does not recommend using it. Members of staff, who work for a pittance, have not had a salary increase during the past three years, and payment of their wages is frequently delayed. One member of staff told me that she planned to leave as soon as the hotel paid her what she was owed. Maintenance is virtually none existent. Room safes may not work because their batteries need replacing (and there are usually no new batteries in stock); taps may fall off for lack of a screw; it is not possible to take a bath because the plugs have been removed (presumably for economic reasons). Ive known this hotel for many years. A friend of mine was involved in the reconstruction of the hotel in 2007. The hotel experienced financial difficulties at that time; neither suppliers nor staff were paid on time and it appears that nothing has since changed. The food on offer at the hotel is inedible and grossly overpriced. My last room-service order consisted of tough chicken breast and dry spaghetti for which I paid twenty Euros. It ended up being flushed down the toilet. The management are arrogant and unapproachable, though members of staff (largely East-European/Russian) try their best to compensate. On my last visit (September 2013) the room safe, (which was not secured to the wall) could not be opened and the room fridge did not work. I called the desk and the maintenance man arrived but did nothing. I called the desk some hours later and after a long delay the maintenance man (obviously very annoyed at being disturbed) arrived with a new safe and a new fridge. On the day I checked out I noticed that the bodywork of my rental car had been damaged. My car had been side-swiped by another car. If I remember correctly, the car belonging to the maintenance man had been parked next to my rental car the previous evening.

Nice pool but still needs a little polish
The e-hotel seeems to be a very old hotel that has had a light make over. I say light because some of it is already wearing thin. The lobby area is eclectic and nice enough although not my taste. The restaurant area is very well done. The pool is the highlight but there are little things like missing tiles that bugged me. There are water features around the property, some that worked some that didn't and still others that they only ran for part of the day. I found this odd because if you didn't know better you'd think those did not work either. The breakfast was the same everyday but okay. The bed was great but the room felt cheaply remodeled. Simple things like clean paint lines. Our remote for the tv was held together with tape. The room and the and the hotel were clean and the staff was great. This is a budget hotel/spa and it shows. I think it was worth the price but it's no four seasons.
