  Like a home from home

  We've visited Dunkerley's for years to visit family, and the food is outstanding everytime but the hotel stands out even without the restaurant - it's quaint and homey, it feels like a home from home with staff making you feel cared for and should there ever be a slight issue, someone is always available to help both quickly and without intrusion. The owner is a character always ready to make you feel welcome, Dan runs things in a professional manner while also wearing a smile and being down to earth. We always dealt with Holly before now and she would be there for a chat and send us on our way with well wishes, but Cressida in her place is equally pleasant, all staff give the air of having time free for you while managing to run things efficiently and (what seems to us) with ease! We look forward to many stays to come!

  Golf in Deal

  A long established restaurant and hotel, the rooms are a good size, on-suite bathrooms and tidy. The restaurant served a good quality dinner with a good choice of wine. Breakfast could have been a little more in quantity but tasty. Coffee was very average and they could do with buying some quality beans. Parking is easy with a public pay and display car park 2mins walk away.

  Lovely place to stay

  They seemed to get everything right here. Nice welcome on arrival, comfortable well equipped room, friendly staff in the bar and restaurant. Good food. Well positioned hotel. Virus protection measures clearly in place and being taken seriously. Couldnt have asked for anything else!

  A return visit after a few years absence.

  It is still excellent value for money and the staff and the food are still very good but each time I return I feel a facelift to the rooms is required. Inevitably some of the rooms have depressing views out of the windows which given central wells cannot be changed but an effort could be made. The menu options seemed more limited this time (Covid?) but given a two night stay there was enough choice and even non pudding eaters were converted.

  great location, great staff

  We had q really nice room (#2) with a big bay window and window seat overlooking the seafront. Basic amenities were good and the bed was great, but they need to fix the wired-in hairdrier (ancient, kept cutting out) and the elderly shower/jacuzzi combo was so complex even the staff were unsure how to operate it. The staff were all great, especially the knowlegeable bar manager.
