    Excellent pie and mash lunch

    We stopped off for a pie and mash lunch with a groupon voucher but it would defiantly be worth the full price, very large and beautifully cooked home made pie, mash and fresh veg, very friendly staff and warm welcome.

    Ignore all the negatives!!

    Stayed here for two nights bed and breakfast whilst attending the Gold Cup day at Ascot with friends. Firstly, the rooms need some TLC but that is my only criticism as this is out of the hands of Adrian and Julie. The rooms are clean, there are plenty of towels for guests and the beds are really comfy. Tea, coffee and a small TV is provided. Both Adrian and Julie were very helpful and friendly as were other guests and regulars. The full English breakfast was lovely with as much juice, coffee, cereal and toast as you could possibly eat (best slices I have EVER seen) A similar stay at a bog standard well known chain down the road wanted over £1000 for the four of us. We would not hesitate to recommend the Dukes Head for good value, good food and lovely hosts. Thank you!!

    Decent pub in Wokingham

    This place is not too bad as a pub, a bit dirty round the edges but a good range of beers at reasonable prices and it has a dart board which is always good for entertainment. People were very nice in there, good atmosphere

    Fab fish and chips!

    First meal out since lockdown! Lovely thick fish, homemade mushy peas and the best chips I have eaten in a long time! Great value for money and so much better than cooking at home. Well worth a visit after work on a Friday.

    Visited today for a drink as unable to get a table anywhere in Wokingham. Overjoyed when Landlord even though was not serving food. Went and purchased food in order to accommodate us. The food was superb and his kindness and presentation of food was superb. Highly recommend this place. Thank you.
