  Excellent hotel in nice area

  This is an excellent hotel close to the centre of the Spadola. The rooms are nice and quiet and clean. The staff is very kind and helpfull. Unfortunately the WIFI is only available in the lobby and the signal is lost when you move out of the area. The breakfast is not very special but is made good with home made cakes. In front of the hotel, at the main street, lies a restaurant which is part of the hotel and which serves decent food. Close by is the nice city of Serra San Bruno and the area has good hiking possibilities.

  Unexpectedly great hotel

  Excellent hotel! The hotel is very nice, its very well looked after and perfectly clean. We had a fabulous stay; Serra San Bruno, Spadola and all the little villages nearby are very authentic and beautiful. However, what made our stay exceptional was the owner of the hotel. She has got a great sense of humour and went beyond her way to help us out. I was looking for typical Calabrian products (nduja, sopressata, capicollo) with no luck as most places I found had run out of products. When I told the owner and she saw my disappointment, she drove us in her car to a local shop so I could buy sopressata! As if it was not enough, she contacted a local producer of nduja, picked it up for me, vacuum packed it and gave it to me the next morning before I left. I had never experienced such a great service. Thank you very much. Breakfast as well was incredible; the owner baked fantastic cakes herself every day. She asked us what we would like to have for breakfast and she would make sure to have it the next morning. We asked for mozzarella, sopressata, ham she never disappointed us. I would definitely return! Thank you very much, had a perfect holiday.

  Surprise accommodation in this local area

  We stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights, during our holiday down south of Italy. The hotel was very clean and our room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. We had a lovely balcony that overlooked the town. The owners were the friendliest we had come across in a long time. Would make sure we had plenty of breakfast in the morning and would sit with us and have a chat. Home made cakes and biscuit were delicious. They would ensure we had a table for lunch or dinner every day at their restaurant right in front of the Hotel. I had trouble with the closest ATM which was in the next town about 15 minutes away. When I relayed this to the owner, she quickly drove me herself in her car to help me at the ATM that I had trouble with before. She was so considerate and would do anything for us. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

  Wonderful experience

  My sister and I visited Spadola to meet family after our grandparents immigrated in the early 1900s. Gracellia (owner) was warm and gracious and so helpful in connecting us with family members. So gracious! As well as connecting us with her niece to assist with translations. Accommodations were very comfortable and well appointed. But her gift was evident in the amazing baked goods For breakfast: OMG! Along with hand made coffee options: just an excellent start to the day. I need the recipe for her honey and walnut tart...just amazing. The tart made with grape marmalade from local grapes....wonderful. They own the Restaurant next door: you will no find better food in Italy. Local specialties and home made wine. Just book and see for yourself. We WILL be back!
