Away from downtown, close to airportWe stayed there for two nights in August 2012. Clean and friendly room with a PC and empty fridge. Otherwise the hotel has not much to offer. We did not have breakfast in the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. As they were building the street in front of the hotel, we had to walk a couple hundred meters to find a taxi.

Satisfying room stay but very bad serviceWe checked in for the last night of our 14 days trip of Northern Xinjiang. This was one of the more satisfying hotels in our whole trip. The room was big with a nice writing desk, sitting couch and twin beds. Toiletries were provided with wearable room slippers too. The linens on the beds looked sparkling clean and the towels hanging in the bath were clean and sparkling white. The boiling kettle was the cleanest in all the 13 nights of our hotel stays, without any dirt, stains or rust. But the reception service staff were very unfriendly and they do not answer when approached. As for the buffet breakfast, it was the greatest spread in our whole trip. Most of the food were of reasonable taste. Again the service staff were very unhelpful and rude. When we arrived for breakfast, there were not a single seat left. The waiter just asked us to sit at empty chairs that were actually occupied with occupants away to fill their plates. He stood doing nothing, as if nothing had happened and he was a statue for show. We approached another service staff for help and she said she could not open other unoccupied tables. More people came in and all were left to eye for any others leaving their chairs for good. As the case for most hotels in this part of China, there is no wifi available. This hotel is more for independent travelers who do not need any kind of assistance from the hotel staff. It is therefore a hotel with no service.

Far from town, but decent valueMost taxi drivers we hailed in Urumqi knew this hotel by name, and it is also right next to a BRT 5 station, but otherwise I would choose a different location closer to the center or southern part of town next time. The breakfast was good for a mid-budget hotel, and the staff tried to help when I could get their attention. The phone number didn't work when we tried calling from our overseas mobile about a toiletries bag we forgot after checking out, but fortunately we went back and found out while they were still cleaning the room.

Cheapish hotel with great staff. We chose it because it was the cheapest hotel with a covered pool. We had a large, clean room with nice district views all the way to the mountains. Bottles of mineral water, hot water jug and fridge were very welcome by us. It has a lobby restaurant opened for breakfast and another restaurant that was open all day till midnight. Breakfast is included in the room price but the pool isn't. A small fee is payable for its use. The staff were very obliging and helpful. They got us a taxi off the street when we needed it. They also run a small shop with necessities and souvenirs in the lobby and its prices are the same as in any outside shop.

Not just a bad locationWe stayed on the 11th floor which is non-smoking. I smelled so bad an out towels smelled as if they have been stored in a confined smokers room. The staff was cold. I felt like a criminal - everyone had to show room keys to enter the front door (both my wife an I had to dig them out every day) and it is in a bad location. We stay often in URC and this is a bad choice at the price.
