    Very disappointing

We arrived Friday afternoon to be greeted by a not too friendly lady. We went in to have extremely weak, tasteless coffee and small biscuits, which should have been cake. For the evening meal there was a shop bought saftevand waiting for us, and the food was disgraceful. The potatoes were hard and vacuum packed ones, the meat dry and the dessert shop bought pancakes that were so rubbery, no one ate them. The drinks were ridiculously priced for the standard of the place & who would want expensive wine or expensive water with food like that. The breakfast was adequate. You were placed at tables with other guests, so couldn't speak freely to your partner. The tables were dirty & the staff were unfriendly & didn't bother to clear the plates away. There wasn't enough food brought in at the buffet, so people were waiting for a long time to get something to eat. The room we stayed in was cold, with no heating in the bathroom & nowhere to hang your towels. Cold air was coming through the gaps in the doors & when people smoked outside, we could smell it in our room just above them. As non-smokers this was disgusting. This was a very bad experience & could easily tell the staff had no intention of making anyone's stay pleasant. Would never go there again or recommend it to anyone

    WORST HOTEL EXPERIECE

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Cleanliness and hygene and room... The hallways haven't been hoovered in days. Our room looked clean on the surface but the inside of the radiator was full of dust gathered in clumps and the bathroom vent was the same. Our bed was made of 2 very old single beds put together. The pillows barely had any puff in them. The single blankets were small and an overall black duvet blanket covering both beds looked like it hadn't been washed in months. The radiator only worked on the highest nr and it was still drafty and chilly during the night. For a 3* hotel, the room didn't even have proper shampoo, It had 2 soap dispensers. It was the same soap. The room didn't even have a jug of water with glasses. So we had to drink bathroom sink water during the night because everything was closed downstairs. The room didn't even have a telephone to reception or a kettle to make some coffee or tea. Food.... They served cake and tea and coffee on arrival. It was some cheap store bought cake and they only served Earl grey tea. It was ok. Dinner was a very low quality, days old un-tastesful buffet meal. There was mushroom soup, (probably frozen mushrooms), the broth was disgusting, seemed like it was just a thin watery salt and un-reduced cream consistency. The main was a Mexican chicken (there were no other meat options). Again the chicken seemed to be broiled in some sauce which was made out of water, salt, cream and if you know the jalapeno jars, it seemed as if they threw the jalapenos with the jalapeno water in the sauce The potatoes were undercooked or it was probably that they have been cooked the day or 2 before as they had no starch left in them as they have been refrigerated, they were covered in some sort of parsley. There was ''green'' leaf salad that looked 2 days old. There was plain unseasoned rice. There was also cold pasta. The pasta was very cold, sticky, over-salted and sprinkled with some crudites. We didn't get the water, but it was ridiculous to see a jug of water was 30kr per person. The bread served was old and stale. But has been made crispy in the oven. A monkey would have know that. Breakfast was actually ok but the bread again was old and stale. The pate was lovely, they actually had fresh cherry tomatoes which was a surprise, the salami and cheese was good, and they had more tea variaties. There was also an indoor pool, which was dropped bang in the middle of a hall or some sort of a dinning area, with some tables and chairs surrounding it, and glass display, selling some weird old clothes, I have no idea why they were selling them. The pool was absolutely freezing so there was no way we could use it. Despite the miserable conditions, I did enjoy the company of my husband and the sauna, which was the only good thing about the place. No wonder they're losing money, the sauna runs non stop. Upon checking out, we had a gift certificate given to us by my mother in law. Something they proudly advertise online as a great stay but where nothing happens. We ate bad food and watched bad tv. However despite this overnight stay 15.00 thursday - 11.00am friday, which costed 1045 kr, they charged us some weird fee called an environmental fee of 136kr for one night stay. What the heck is an environmental fee? We asked and asked to give us details, and they kept pointing to the terms and conditions on the print out certificate. it says right here they said, you have to pay they said, but there was no reference to the price, so what is it we are paying for? we kept asking and we still don't really know, but it was something on the lines of, that because they are promoting their one night stay for 2 people online very cheap, we have to make up the rest of the payment when we check out. How ridiculous is that? On top of that we also had the the beers to pay for (2 glasses of beers at 55 kr each) where they charged us tax on. So in total we had to pay 250 kr surplus. I guess we had to pay for the heating and electricity too. We couldn't wait to wake up and go home, which sounded 1 million times better than this miserable place. Please don't waste your time, money and appetite going here, they are a complete joke and should be ashamed of the service they run. They don't care about their guests but only to make money to stay afloat.

This is an old folks hotel

We booked the hotel via an add in the magazine "pensjonisten" .The prize was acceptable, but was it value for money ? If You are not to demanding of what You are having for breakfast and your taste for dinner is simple, the answer is yes. But if You would decide yourself the answer is no. There is no lift in the hotel. Can not be recommended for families with children. we stayed for 4 nights. the room was never cleaned

    Good and clean room

We were impressed with the spacy room (No. 50) and all we needed (except fridge) in it. We only stayed two night so we do not know about housekeeping for a longer stay. The hotel was "old fashioned" but absolutely OK. We enjoyed, by car, seeing the surroundings with old buildings, nice woodland etc.
