  Worst treatment ever experienced

  I have seen thousand of hotels in vacation and business. This hotel places absolutely at the bottom ever experienced. Your vacation feeling was lost right at check in. The hotel had the most arrogant reception clerk ever experienced, since the soviet era in East Europe/Russia. Along with my reservation at the hotel I got an invoice which I paid happily in advance. Upon check in I informed the receptionist that I had paid the visit according to invoice and asked her to check it. No that was not possible - instead I was informed that things are done in her way not mine. Upon check out I had to pay again a higher rate than offered in the confirmation/invoice. Despite numerous requests I did not get even an answer from the hotel in order to collect my double payment I was forced to pay. After one month and several requests, I informed them Im hiring a german lawyer to act on my behalf, then I got a response finally. Besides the terrible service at reception - which destroyed the vacation feeling - the rest of the hotel and staff performed okay, but ensure you have a german lawyer ready on hand if choosing this hotel.

  Ok hotel, But the location is a bit unfortunate

  The room itself was large and clean. Only downside is that there is a gun-range ~1km from the hotel. Due to the heat, i had to open the windows, and then you could hear the gun range. The park that is between the hotel and gun range is suited for a stroll, But only if you survive the gunshots every now and then. Also note that the train that goes to the corresponding train station only leaves once an hour. If you miss that, you can take another train that leaves every 20th minute and walk 20 minutes to the hotel.

  Phone operator is awful, sounds like a seller of fish at the market, wants to get rid of you a.s.a.p.

  Don't call this hotel. First they don't answer the phone, after a while a "lady" does and she is very rude, even when you try and speak german to them. Phone operator is awful, sounds like a seller of fish at the market, wants to get rid of you a.s.a.p. She is totally not interested in answering your question to make a reservation. I have stayed here before with an excellent holliday. I won't do that anymore after this terrible experience. Book online, don't call!

  Relaxing weekend

  Nice hotel with access to SPA and pool area. Restaurant was very good with nice service. The hotel bar was a little disappointing. Rooms are good but the beds could be better. All in all a nice hotel.

  Clearly there are some issues that should be resolved...

  Positives: Huge room, very good matrass, friendly and English speaking staff in the evening. Good breakfast buffet, all fresh and nice - healthy choices. Beautiful location, nice spacious terras. Information map shows their story and gives impression that they aim to be a 4* hotel. Perhaps the Corona times cause the negative points below, but we believe they need to be resolved no matter how many * the hotel has! Sauna and swimmingpool (next door) are closed due to Corona but this is not the fault of the hotel. Improvement needed: 1. No airco so window needs to be open during night. At 6 am(!) the staff starts by smoking cigarettes and loud talks right under our window (1st floor). We mentioned this (bathroom smelled like an ashtray) after the first night by putting a post-it in the room - as requested - but second night same happened. Also the second morning at 8:15 a guy started to use gardenmachine right under our window. We were already awake because of the smoke & talking and decided to leave to go cannoeing but still annoying. The reception compensated in the pricing by offering free breakfast but it was not a relaxing night sleep. 2. Restaurant does not have vegetarian options on the menu; they are willing to make something but that is not very welcoming. On the terras there are many wasps and our son got stung in his arm. 3. Upon arrival there still was a dirty (!) towel on the rack in the bathroom from a previous guest. It was behind the door so could have been missed by the staff but in Corona-times not fitting. 4. Noisy, when people talk in the hallway you can hear it in your room. 5. Staff does not follow Maskenpflicht. Also the guests seem to be relaxed and do not put on their masks at breakfast buffet - staff does not remind them of this; again not fitting in these Corona times 6. Staff/reception was totally unaware about leisure activities in the region of the hotel, even though the hotelmap points out that reception can book/arrange them for the guests.
