Nice old hotel in historic building, watch out for the church bell towerThe hotel is in the small but nice historic part of town on top of a hill. Nearby, a little bit further up, are the remains of a castle where in summertime music festivals are held. There are large function rooms classically decorated and at the back is a terrace overlooking part of the valley. The rich decorated fire place was particularly nice. There is a large restaurant, which I did not use, and a bar. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The only thing missing was a small desk for the PC and to do some writing. This should be a standard in every hotel room. The TV had a good selection of mainly German channels and Sky News. Wifi internet was included in the room price and you get the access codes at the front desk but for some reason I did not need those and was connected straight to the web. Internet speed was sufficient to watch streaming media (approx. 300kB/s). Breakfast was served at the table and was of good quality with choices of fresh bread, various spreads, boiled egg, fresh orange juice, tea or coffee, etc. served with a smile. In summer you can enjoy breakfast on the open terrace. The only downturn, which is beyond control of the hotel, was the small street in front of the hotel with a restaurant and terrace which in summer can be noisy. But the worst was the bell tower of the church close to the hotel. The time bell was not switched off at night so every 15 minutes it went off. Not good for a good nights sleep even with earplugs in, as I had. Better ask for a room on the other side, away from the bell tower.

Scenic old-fashioned hotel in the heart of TecklenburgDon't expect too much luxury or contemporary style: in this hotel you're set for a quiet stay in a yesteryear's scenic setting. Friendly staff. Although in the heart of this very tiny town, the hotel does have a small parking (a bit tacky when you're on o motorbike, as the way to/from this parking is very steep ;-)). Recommended 1-night stay to explore the town & the beautiful Teutoburger Forest region.

CigarettesThe staff are allowed to smoke inside and the whole place smells of old cigarette smoke. Good breakfast. Staff weren't expecting us, despite booking. Even though there were only three or four parties of guests staying over, the service was appallingly slow and we had to remind them of orders already given. We ate dinner at Anno 1560, which was a great decision.

Old but charmingA hidden, somewhat tarnished pearl with a fantastic view. We had a large very clean and fresh room with a 60000 meter view and the most noisy floor The dining facility is built for a congress but still cosy with a fantastic terrasse

Historical, hospitable, comfortableWe knew Hotel Drei Kronen already for some years, but mainly as cafe-restaurant. We'd never stayed in the hotel, until now. The hotel is very historical (the walls date back 400 years) and the owner and his staff do everything possible to make your stay memorable. Apart from comfortable, spaceous rooms with superb beds, the restaurant is worth mentioning too, We had two dinners here and they were delicious!
