  Great location, happy with just about everything.

  I did have a little chuckle when I got to my room. Exposed oak beams are great, but maybe not when you have to crawl through them to get to the kettle. . I told a friend that I had to crawl through the little door to get to the en-suite. I didn't, but why let the truth get in the way of a good story. Staff excellent, beer well kept, and my evening meal was very nice too. Breakfast was pretty good too. I will stop again, but maybe not in the attic .

  Highly Recommended

  We enjoyed a pleasant overnight stay in this historic hotel. The room was well prepared, clean and charming. A well stocked and refurbished shower and bathroom room served our stay well. The breakfast was plentiful and 5*. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The place, a former county town and countryside is quiet and beautiful with a number of places to visit and walk. We would recommend this hotel and location.

  Highly recommend this hotel

  We stayed here for one night with our dog. Our room was small but comfortable with all amenities. It is a friendly family run hotel and the food and service were first class. Covid guidelines fully in place. We will definitely stay here again.

  Waitress amazing!

  I came here for the eat out to help out scheme and was really impressed. The food was OK, but the staff were amazing. I cant remember the exact name, Freya? Or Jaya? Was amazing! Catered to our every need, a really pleasant experience.

  Great hotel in a historical town

  Stayed here on a motorcycle tour of Wales. Hotel was clean and staff were brilliant and friendly. The rooms where a decent size and had everything you needed for a stay (stays to the higher ones are quite steep to get to with a load of gear or for those with walking issues) but wasnt really a big issue for us. Bar and restaurant was great, food was fantastic and well priced and the breakfast in the morning was good as well. Definitely a hotel for those who want to explore or go for a good walk, right at the base of Montgomery Castle only a short walk away. Highly recommend a stay here if in the area.
