Nice quiet Christmas getawayWe have stayed here many times before. We love the location - in the forest and a bit away from the town. It was a quiet, safe (very Covid safe - lots of precautions taken) Christmas here. It was so nice to get away and not worry about crowds. The staff are absolutely incredible - the service alone is a great reason to stay. They allow dogs in some rooms, so our pups had a great holiday, too. Lots of free firewood. Things are closed due to Covid (ie pool etc) but its still a great break from the real world, especially these days.

Rustic is being kindWe booked a 3 bedroom Chalet meant for six. With Covid, it was just 2 of us. The pictures online were misleading, the chalet has probably not been updated in 30 years. Yes, it sleeps six. The sheets were clean. The bedspreads were dated and musty smelling. Thank goodness we brought our own pillows and comforter. The kitchen was dated, chipped drawers and cupboards, dirty oven, elements that did not work. Minimal supplies. The kitchen table would seat 3 max. It was not clean. We found an old bandage on the bedroom floor, a used Q-tip in the bathroom. Dirty floors and floorboards. Lights throughout the chalet were burnt out and one lamp was broken. The patio door could not close all the way so there was quite a gap letting cold air in. The furnishings showed their age. Chipped, dated and questionably clean. This will be our last time staying there.

Hotel great, Booking service out to lunchThis hotel is definitely a little old, but still very charming. We stayed in a loft in the main lodge for the weekend. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, COVID protocols were taken seriously, LOVED the wood burning fireplace. Lovely to have a kitchen too. The staff were very friendly, particular shout out to the young woman from Ireland, she was absolutley lovely. Our only complaint is the room wasnt cleaned despite putting the "please make up room" sign out. HOWEVER. When I called to book this hotel, I got a lot of Misinformation. I don't blame the hotel staff bc it's a 1 800 number, so it's going to a call center. I very specifically asked if the pool was open. They said it was but bc of covid protocols, we would have to book a timeslot. totally fine with me. They also offered the information that there were shuttles running to all of the ski hills. Again, great, bc we were going skiing, so we planned around this. You can imagine my surprise when I walked into the lobby that overlooks the pool and the pool is drained. You could book a 20 minute slot at the outdoor hot tub, and could only book day of. We got a booking for Friday night, but by 3pm Saturday, they were booking for sunday (not sure how since it was supposed to be day of?). Also there were no shuttles running bc of COVID. Which is fine, but then dont tell patrons there are shuttles bc we had planned around taking the shuttle to the hill that day. Would definitely book at this hotel again, but would call the hotel itself to get any info first.
