Extended my stay and wish I could've extended even longerThe Doubletree is a stunning resort in the middle of the jungle near the Seven Fairy mountains - highly recommended if you want some peace and tranquility after seeing some of China's busier cities. I was upgraded to a huge suite with its own hot springs tub on its large balcony looking out into the rainforest - all I could see from balcony at night were the twinking lights of the fireflies. The resort was relatively empty at this time of year, so I had almost the entire suite wing to myself, which added to serenity. The room was modern with all the luxuries you'd expect from a 5 star resort, good wifi, great rainshower, 2 flatscreen TVs with a few English channels, oversized soft bed and a coffee machine. There was a rather large Executive Lounge in the suite wing but it was closed (assume there aren't enough guests to justify opening it at this time of year), so instead there's a private lounge in the lobby which serves a nice platter of sandwiches and cakes for afternoon tea, and a nice savoury platter for Happy Hour along with beer and wine (all complimentary) - you could easily do without a separate dinner. The buffet breakfast was fantastic - there was a huge selection of mainly Chinese dishes, which for me is a plus because I'd rather try local dishes. There was a separate and quieter area for executive club/suite guests. The resort-style pool was massive and split into a hot spring level at 38C, and two larger cool sections, one for adults - all looking out into the jungle with the Seven Fairies in the distance. I spent 2 days lounging in and around it and could easily have spent 2 more. There's also a few different kids' club facilities, pool tables and even a few "chess rooms" to help pass the time. Finally the service was outstanding. There were alot of Nepalese staff who spoke excellent English and were genuinely kind and helpful. Most of the local staff had limited English, but still made a huge effort to look after me - special mention in particular to Jovi and Hanson at reception who were always available to help me out. All in all I went from staying just 1 night, to extending to 2 nights and now planning a week here next year to relax and unwind. The upgrade was a wonderful surprise too and made a great stay absolutely perfect. Can't wait to come back! Getting there if you're not driving or with a tour: if coming from Haikou, you can catch the highspeed rail to Lingshui station. Outside the station there are silver long-distance buses (not the local buses with digital numbers on the front), one of which goes to Baoting (ask the driver) for RMB15. It's around an hour and will drop you at the Boating bus station. From there you can get a taxi or motorbike up to the hotel. I used Didi (the China-equivalent of Uber) to get up to the hotel and back down again - much cheaper than using a hotel car and no risks being taken to the wrong hotel. The Baoting bus station is also where the pink buses to/from Sanya depart - RMB22 and seemed pretty frequent.

Check In Found Used Condom And Someone Opened Our DoorFirst of all, I wonder how many English review are actually here, this is an remote location where you rarely seen a foreigner. But let's assume plenty of you been here, I will be the first done the one star review! Me and my friends were checked in this hotel on The Chinese Independence day, for the price we paid we 3800 Yuan around 550 USD for two rooms and two nights. We arrived around 4:30 pm, and front desk told us that there is only one room available and the other will be cleaned in 15 mins. So I processed to my friends room as we all tired of 3 hours driving from Haikou. We sat and chat in the room for 30 mins, and drama happens: A couple unlocked our room with their room card!!! Surprise! They had the same room key had same written room number! Which we argued a bit on the phone with front desk and eventually let them went a different room. About 5:30, I checked my room again, assuming they had done the cleaning. I went to my room, found used condoms in the messy bed! Bathroom was all wet as if someone just taken the shower. The room smells like pee, be honest. After several calls, they came to clean, but it was already sunset! What a promise of "ready to check in by 3PM"? The front desk seem to be very arrogant as he treated other guests, included me. They denied room was unclean, and explained someone else opened door by 'accident', but I'm sure for those who wrote english review, a foreign face will get you plus service like else where in China. Let's talk about that hot tub, it's basically hot boiling was pouring into a poor, and that was it! Each room does have a private hot tub on the balcony, but it's there, and nobody really use it. Food was cooked by amateur chef, and overpriced. As the sunset, we had some food in a local restaurant, and decided to have some late night food, the barbecue by side of bar was a joke, we spent 280 yuan for a little bit of corn and lamb sticks, some soda. The kebab lamb was a joke, only some side meat attached to a thin stick, the bar was amateur also. Overall, this is the worst hilton or double tree I have ever stayed. Considering most hotel in Hainan province are terrible at service and room cleanliness, this is not a shame, but for a Hilton product, it is the shame in anyway.

Thanks JeffThe property itself is amazing. Nice and clean pool with hot springs tubs. Big applause to Jeff Jiang at the front desk! He is the most friendly and helpful one among all the staffs. We will be back soon!

Poorly maintainedRoom was not properly cleaned. I found two used condoms in the trash bin below the desk. Floor was dirty and furniture was dusty. Balcony door was broken and private spa wasn't inviting. TV had malfunctions. Cheap toilet paper. Poor quality breakfest. Chinese restaurant is very expensive for the bad food on offer. Slow check-in and check-out procedures. Worst Hilton hotel I've been to.
