Pleasant surpriseWe stopped in here during the height of the Corona virus pandemic. The property was clean, the room had been disinfected and there was hand santizer readily available. The people in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and helpful. Our meal was decent. Quiet hotel despite the proximity to the interstate.

Currently Here!! The worst Hilton everWow!!! We are a military family and have traveled all over the US and this by far is the worst Hilton ever!! From the moment I checked in I was greeted with total attitude. Most hotels as a member of any of their programs you ask for a free upgrade. I was rudely reminded that since I wasnt one of their higher members that I didnt get one. Wow.. Thats a bit harsh, a no would have sufficed. Then multiple times I was called hun, like be a little more professional. Its sad because the property is really nice but their unprofessionalism, no uniforms or name tags it really shouldnt be a Hilton. It got worse though. Hold onto your seats. We got into our first room a s there wasnt a fridge.. Our daughter has epilepsy and needs her meds in the fridge. The front desk lady offered to hold onto our meds? That isnt even offered anywhere else and honestly a huge liability for their hotel. When I asked for a fridge to be sent up, she said they dont have them? I said can you take it from another room, she said no. They are only at 50% due to Covid? Seriously!! No maintenance worker on the property!! Minutes later we had new keys. The room was sealed but someone had used a bar of soap and there was trash in the room. Then our remote is t working!! Like seriously I cant make this stuff up!! My poor husband calls downstairs so they can fix the remote and is given an attitude. I arrived with dinner in hand and the house lady was trying to fix our remote. Three tries and still nothing. We were then offered to move again!! Then the new lady for the 3rd shift started giving me an attitude. Arguing with me what my rate was and I told her to check the computer. I was in the middle of eating dinner. She called the GM and they gave us half off the room rate!! Figures since he only heard their side of their story. Do yourself a favor and NEVER stay here. They dont deserve to stay open or have their jobs!! So disappointing and disgusted on how we were treated.

Great stay for families!!!We got a 1br suite. It was two identical rooms with those special hotel doors in between the two rooms (each door only has a handle on one side, each door has a deadbolt). Each room had a door to the hallway. One room had a king bed, armchair, and desk. The other room had a (comfortable!) sofa bed and armchair. Both rooms had identical bathrooms and closets. We requested (and got) a very nice cot. The rooms and all the furniture were VERY NICE. Beautiful walk-in showers (no tubs). There was an adequate number of staff, and everyone was very helpful. Never heard anyone else! Breakfast buffet was good. Hot things were buffet style, everything else was hygienically individually packaged (even pieces of bread for toast). My only complaint is that 2 out of 3 kitchen and restaurant staff had their masks below their noses, but they were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. This was a GREAT stay for us, and I really appreciated it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone actually work here?Being a Hilton honors member I decided to stay here as opposed to Drury Inn and Suites, where I normally stay while in town. Check in and digital key through the Hilton app was seamless and convenient. However the elevator cab, hallway to my room and my room itself ere filthy. Dirt and debris all over the hallway floors and in my room, inclusive of used condiment wrappers, most of which I picked up myself. I went to use the room fridge and there was none, simply the empty spot it should have been in and the microwave exterior was filthy. I went to the front desk and waited for quite some time, but an employee never showed up. I had an appointment to keep so I left. When I came back later, still no front desk employee, no complimentary water ( an alleged honors member perk). Only upon leaving the next morning did I see an employee. I voiced my concerns through a survey sent by the hotel and received a scripted response from a (ironically), front desk agent. Apparently management is to busy to respond and this is why front desk agents aren't working the front desk. The Drury provides much better service and perks. I stayed at this Hilton twice in the last 6 months and one in Chesterfield Mo. it was night and day between the two as the Chesterfield location was what you would expect from the Hilton brand. I will not stay here again and would advise others that there are much better options, specifically the Drury, while visiting Mt. Vernon.

Great Hotel Experience - Friendly Staff But Negative BreakfastAs my readers know, I am a very loyal Hilton Guy. But, that does not stop me from a negative review when its earned. Stopped at the Doubletree on our way to Kansas for Thanksgiving. The opening experience was almost negative - but, Arin (female evening front desk clerk) saved the day. She started out stating my credit card had been declined, but realized it was a mistake and assigned me a room but the key did not work. Trip 1 back to the lobby - and she politely reset the cards and back upstairs. The card didnt work again - and trip 2 back to the front desk. She tried again and then sent me to another room across the hall from the first. Back upstairs - and the key didnt work again and the freshness seal was broken. So...trip 3 downstairs. And, another room on another floor. This key worked for an upgraded suite. In all this - Arin (hope I spelled her name correct) was polite and was very upset about the issues. So, after all this the room was comfy and clean and we slept well. Breakfast early the next morning was a disappointment- the eggs were burned and very dry and the coffee weak but the service was good. So, great hotel once we were able to get into a room! Arin was wonderful and polite. Will stay there again if in the area but will skip breakfast.
