  Hit and misses

  We decided to return to the DoubleTree for our year end holiday again this year as we had a wonderful experience last year. The location is in a quieter part of Melaka which we do enjoy. The room was spacious and we were given a room on a higher floor with great view of the city as before. However, we noticed that the hotel wasnt running as well as it did a year before probably due to the effects of the pandemic and running at full-capacity. There were hits and misses in the service this time round. Eg. Check-in was great and we got a follow up text asking about our experience, which was what I appreciate about Hiltons service in the first place. However, after I replied, there was no more response from the hotel. It felt like it was just an automated message sent without any follow through. When we checked out, the guy checking us out just asked if we needed to validate our car park ticket, which then I replied no, I dont need it and then he said okay, bye. I was slightly taken aback by this reply for Hiltons standard. Also, this time the toiletries provided were noticeably of lesser quality than before and it was only when we requested for more items, we were given the better quality products. This might be due to cost cutting decisions because of the pandemic. We used the gym this time but there were used masks and water cups left behind by previous guests which is quite unsanitary and potentially causing risks to other hotel guests. The sanitizing wipes were used up on both occasions that I visited the gym. The hotel could put up signs or even do hourly clean ups/sanitization to put guests at ease that the place is clean and safe to use. I do hope that the hotel would take these feedback on board and improve their service as I would like to return again in the near future.

  Unorganised, unprepared, uncleaned.

  First of all, I am a loyal supporter of interanational brand such as Hilton. But this time, it gives me much disapppointment staying in Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Melaka. After checking in the room, weird moldy smell will catch you first. When my wife went to the toilet, we found yellow and black dots all over the lid of the toilet bowl. Had to clean it ourselves before using it. Then we found that there's no toilet tissue in the toilet & the water hose was hard to use/adjust. Then we went to the shower, I really wonder how the house-keeper was trained but the shower floor was still full or water and the dried area felt sandy... Then we went to the bathtub....... Come on, it was full of dark skin peeled off... Had to spend 30 minutes to clean the bath thoroughly and disinfect. Therefore, if anyone wish to stay in good hotel in Melaka, please think twice before you pay 400$ a night here.

  disappointed

  Booked room through website AND WE CALLED THE HOTEL to book for extra beds but THE STAFF said that we should asked for extra bed during check-in. However, when we were at the counter (SHARP 3PM) for check in, THE RECEPTIONIST said that we shouldve booked extra beds earlier since theres no available extra beds during our stay. The time for check-in is at 3pm but when we arrived, the rooms ARE NOT READY. Waited for TWO HOURS for the rooms to be ready. Receptionist was not friendly & attentive. The RECEPTIONIST WAS THE MAIN REASON why I am DISSATISFIED with the SERVICE.

  Excellent Service

  I booked a hotel for my schoolmates but havent heard or meet for 30 years! They had 3 days 2 nights stay in Double Tree Hilton, Malacca. The Deluxe room was rather spacious with huge closet space and a big bathroom. The room view was breathtaking as it faced the infinity pool and the beach too. The entire passageway to the room was decorated with abstract paintings. It was rather pleasant. Must applaud their COV 19 SOP. Very well implemented. Both their in-house restaurants Makan Kitchen, with local cuisine, and Tosca Trattoria, an Italian restaurant were both distinguished in the choices of food and service. Breakfast spread saw Chefs in action at each station namely the Malay, Chinese, Western, Noodles, Salads, and Coffee stations. All said and done, hotel personnel is the crux and heartbeat of every hotel. I must thank Ms. Susee from Reservation for providing an efficient service within minutes of the call. Double Tree Hilton, Malacca, do have excellent customer service. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, worth every penny and miles. Will come back. Thank you and be well!

  Not bad

  After the long drive from KL to Melaka, we checked in at Double Tree, there was no long queue, but we had to wait in the foyer for our room, as they had to sanitize it etc. The hotel is not bad. Room was spacious. Overall a pleasant stay. Pity the mall downstairs is dead.
