Nice hotel with employees with room for improvementsI just checked out of this hotel 12:30pm today, 10/25/2020. They get 2 more stars for Diamond upgrade and very friendly bartender. When I checked in, a nice staff put me in a better room with a fire place, so that was the highlight of the stay. From that point on, it was downward slope mostly. The room had too much remains of the previous guest and dusts. I can definitely tell that that guests had a dog with them. I got annoyed, but none of my family are allergic, so I moved on. As a Diamond member, I was expecting free breakfast during my stay, which in fact, was one of the main reason I chose to stay with this hotel. my Hilton app said that I was going to get a continental breakfast at the 1st floor restaurant. But as I was walking to my room, it was obvious that the restaurant that was supposed to provide my breakfast was closed. And by the way, no one explained where to get the breakfast, how I can get them, what I can get. Next morning I went to the front desk and asked "where can I get my complimentary breakfast for diamond member?". the person said "at the bar". Nothing else. I said "Ok thanks" then I went to the bar, and the bar person gave me a menu. There were very limited menu available, so I automatically assumed that all of them would be for "continental breakfast" menu. But afterwards, I realized that I am only allowed to have coffee, muffin and juice. It would have been nicer if I was instructed with those information, but that's fine. I am ok to pay for the overpriced precooked breakfast burrito and english muffins, after all, I ate them. When I was checking out, the person who checked me out with his cashier ID "JLAWRENCELBC" clearly must have thought I was looking for some refund or other stuff. While I was giving him a feedback regarding dirty room and how I was not given proper information on how to get the breakfast for Diamond members, not even asking for anything else, he changed his face(under the mask) and told me "ok, what do you need?" with rather annoyed voice. You just do not say that to a customer who is giving them a feedback to improve their service quality. I left the lobby with a bad taste in my mouth. I have been to other DoubleTree properties, and most of the times I have a good experiences with decent breakfast but this one let me down big time. Oh, one last thing, when I asked him to print out the reciept, he said I already got one this morning. I said "no, I haven't" then he replied "by email". I do not check my email when I am on a vacation. he should know that.

Not up to parI was so impressed by the Santa Barbara Hilton that I decided to stay at the Palm Springs resort. It unfortunately fell way short of my expectations. While the room was clean, the common area and elevator were not. The ground floor by the elevator was in need of vacuuming at a minimum, and there was a sticky spilled substance in the elevator. I didn't report it, but noticed it hadn't been cleaned by the second day of my stay. As I stated, the room was in order. It needed some updates and maintenance, though. The draperies had a loose border trailing on the floor that had evidently been caught in the vacuum cleaner. One of the sink basins had a crack that looked at first like hairs. The shower stall was quite worn. The door failed to close securely unless forced. The worst thing was the 9:45 pm maintenance on 11/13. A worker was using various power tools for at least 10 minutes. Please note that I'm neither a golfer nor a super fussy person when it comes to travel. I just expected more from the Hilton (the so-so artificial plants in the lobby didn't help the ambiance). The grounds and the hotel are basically fine, but Hilton should be aware that this property doesn't measure up. With all the other hotels in Palm Springs, I will be looking elsewhere for my next visit.

Moldy and expired food, HOTEL NOT CLEAN. NOT a "Resort," by any means. My boyfriend and I needed a quick and inexpensive getaway, as we (as all of you) are experiencing Covid fatigue. Checked in 2/11/21 and checked out on 2/14/21. Two people, King room with balcony, third floor, overlooking the pool and golf course. I used points for the entire stay. Good things: provided bottled water every day, in accordance with my Gold Status. Morning coffee was very good. View was gorgeous. Unbelievably bad things: On 2/11, I looked at the sandwiches in food in the sundry shop. The sandwiches said "made on 2/7, sell by 2/12." They were still there when I checked out on 2/14. Disgusting. Since the restaurant was closed and there was no indoor dining, the free continental breakfast (for gold status) was a grab and go continental breakfast with a fruit cup et. al. Sure, I have no problem with that during Covid. So, got my breakfast and brought it to the room. There was MOLD on the strawberries. Disgusting. So, I took it back down to the desk and they replaced it. When I got back to my room, there was MOLD ON THIS ONE, TOO. There is NO quality control here. (See photos) I took it to exchange for a third fruit cup, and was exhausted. There was no housekeeping service due to Covid, and that was fine. As instructed, we called housekeeping to get a towel/toiletry replenishment. They delivered VERY FAST, but the order was only half fulfilled. I had to call again, and the employee said that his radio must have been cutting out, and they didn't hear him well, so he sent someone else to complete the order. This order was also incorrect, (there's a difference between conditioner and lotion). I checked it before he left the hallway, and he came back a third time to complete my order. Once agin, there is absolutely NO quality control. Cleanliness was an issue. One elevator had fresh wine stains, and another had a piece of gum when we arrived on 2/11. They were BOTH still there when we checked out on the 14th. Which means, THE ELEVATORS WERE NEVER CLEANED. In addition, the morning I checked out, I understand their occupancy rate was very high. However, there's no excuse for the trash piling up and overflowing in the lobbies and on the floors, outside the elevator. They had the entire overnight to empty these, and it was never done. SO, the public areas WERE NEVER CLEANED. This is complete failure of middle management. This place is NOT clean, and the service is sub-par. Find somewhere else until they replace their middle management. JUST AWFUL.

Last stay hereThis is our second stay at this resort in two years. We will not return to this property. I am a diamond member and was greeted as such. I will say, all the front desk staff we encountered were polite and helpful. This hotel is in dire need of renovations. The views are amazing but then you have to return to your room. I am sensitive to the fact that we are in a COVID world and things are not the same. My feeling though is that if you are going to be open you need to staff your hotel accordingly. We were here for five nights and never requested room to be cleaned. We called several times for clean towels, sheets and toiletries but no one would answer. It took us several times to get a response. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the views were really stunning. The main issue for me was that the the room just felt rundown and dirty.
