  A mixed experience.

  Very good: Executive lunge service. Warm and professional. Not very good: No breakfast served over the lunge; even though this 5 star hotel has been operational for more than 1 year. Bad: Lunge closed during the Chinese New Year window. Very good: Ms. Yang La left me a very personal and warming note once she found something that I may need while cleaning my room. Not very good: One morning while taking a shower but found no shampoo, conditioner, soap ... maybe they thought I checked out already. Not very good: One guest having breakfast in his sleepwear. Quite offensive. He should have been asked to leave. Not very good: Arrived one night later in the evening, but found no one at the front door. Understood this is Chinese New year holiday window while some staffs might have left.

  Quite nice

  Great newer hotel. As a business traveler, it has many of the characteristics of this type of western hotel in China, only better done. Breakfast was great, rooms were very nicely done and clean. I will say the beds are a little hard, but thats it. The shops across the way are a great place to get some food if you have a Chinese speaker to take you. Otherwise, it might be a little hard.

  Perfect Stay

  We only stayed one night and we wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is not centrally located but it has a shopping outlet with plenty of food options next to it. Took about 30 minutes in taxi to Chengdu East railway station (50 CNY). The executive lounge only opens in the afternoon. It does not offer afternoon tea nor breakfast but an amazing cocktail hour. There were several hot and cold dishes as well as wines and spirits. Breakfast in the main restaurant was also very good.

  Comfortable

  I came from Beijing and stayed at the Hilton on Chaoyang. So I can compare the two. This hotel is better for room size, TV size, etc. But overall Hilton quality is there. The breakfast can be a little more western...

  Another wonderful 5 days ...

  Overall another quite good 5 days. Appreciate hotel manager (Kate) reaching out to me (by email) and made proper arrangement for my requested earlier arrival, even though I actually arrived late due to extended delay at San Francisco. Checking in was quite smooth and welcoming, as always .. like the cookie... Executive lounge service continues to be wonderful; but its hrs could have been longer, if possible. Breakfast is wonderful with extensive variations that should satisfy both Chinese and other nationals. Kitchen staffs are all professional, and I esp. like the "soup lady" who greeted everyone with a big smile ... and prepared our orders promptly. However, getting my coffee took way too long (minimum 15 minutes) each and every morning and they made mistakes for my "American coffee" request. Finally, waiters can learn from the kitchen staffs; and show that they are "happy" to work there ...
