  Very Eastern Hotel

  Not a western friendly hotel. No one speaks English here and no one is willing to help. The key to my room failed to work two different time and the issue took three different workers to resolve. The bar in the lobby area closed 2 hours earlier than posted. The business center isnt a proper business center and is only open a few hours throughout the day. They were unable to print a simple 8.5x11 document for me. I wouldnt stay here again.

  This is hotel for local visitors. Very warn down, staff can not speak english, breakfast ARE TERRIBLE

  This was the worst chinese hotel experience ever. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER to stay here. This is an "hour" hotel for chinese bringing their hostesses there for fun. Very local, staff can not speak English. Waste of time and money!

  Strict Lady Reception Staff During Breakfast

  Stayed here for 2 nights. I arrived at Shanghai from a high speed train from Beijing. My guide was waiting for me at the Shanghai train station for my transfer to the hotel. It was already midnight when I checked in at the property. Front office staff is not friendly. There is no lobby lounge in this hotel. The are 2 lounge chairs & a small round table beside the front office counter. Elevator has noisy doors & dirty floor. Hotel room is clean with comfortable beds. Wifi is weak. TV stations are all in Chinese. The window glass panels of the room are very dusty )see photos) The toilet & bathroom looks newly renovated. Complete set of toiletries are provided and replenished daily. Seven Plus body wash & shampoo in bottled dispensers are inside the bathroom aside from the fresh & new bathroom towels. Breakfast is at the M floor, Nobody assisted me to my table because was no reception staff when I entered the dining hall. While I was having my breakfast, a lady reception staff )see photo) suddenly asked for my room number. This lady staff is strict. The food is just average with choices of Chinese & some western foods.

  Spacious room but unpleasant front desk. Varieties of breakfast ends at 8:30am daily.

  Located at the inner alley of main road, not easily visible. Kind of spacious room with basic amenities. very unpleasant front desk with no greetings and smile at all time. served average breakfast from 6am-8:30am daily.

  Average hotel

  I booked Kingtown hotel Shanghai in the first week of May 2019. The hotel was a disapointment. It was pricey but the service was pathetic. The breakfast was totally Chinese and unsuited for foreigners. The quality of food in the buffet breakfast was substandard. The rooms were noisy and staff unattentive. The corridors especially carpets were dusty and ugly. The surroundings of the hotel are actually a shanty town , a slum. The refrigerator in the room did not work. There was a banging noise every hour outside the windows of my room on the 9th floor. On my complaint, the staff did not pay any attention. The hotel is located in a street with cheap hotels and establishments in the surruoundings. I will never stay in this hotel.
