  A little gem near the beach!

  We only stayed one night at this adorable place, but it was totally worth it! We had a 3 bed room, because our daughter joined us. The accommodations were such that she had her own sleeping quarters, away from us. Were were just off the reception area, but it was still quiet. While we weren't there long enough, it was nice to know there was a fridge and kettle in our room. Amsterdam is only a short train ride away, and the Zandvoort centrum is only a short walk away. Next time we stay at the sea, we will definitely return!

  Basic, clean and fulfilled my expectations (3.5 really)

  I'm probably not a typical resident at this hotel. I was sent to Amsterdam for work at short notice. The hotels in Amsterdam seemed to fall into one of three categories: 1 - Ludicrously expensive, 2 - 'dodgy looking hostels, still expensive, 3 - Sold out. So I decided to stay in Zandvoort and picked the Doppenberg as it was at a reasonable price and topped the list. Good points: Friendly welcome, clean accommodation, quiet location, BBC1 on the TV (good for the English), refrigerator in the room Not so good points: my room had a separate entrance on the ground floor at the back, so no charming view, there is free wifi, apparently, but it didn't seem to penetrate into my room. Within easy walking distance, there are numerous restaurants and the train station. Trains to Amsterdam Centraal run every 30 mins. and are very punctual. The Dutch are quite idiosyncratic (imho). E.g., the ticket machine at the station doesn't accept non-Dutch debit/credit cards. I would certainly stay again in similar circumstances. The hotel would make a clean and comfortable "no-frills" base for those taking a break by the sea.

  Too expensive

  The hotel is nice, close to the beach and rooms are nicely furnished. The price however is outrageous for what you get. No breakfast, no possibility around there, wifi working on and off. Rooms are extremely worm and it was impossible to open windows. Some rooms have a window on the internal path where in the middle of the night the owner (presumably) parks his moped and wakes you up. The bathroom is enormous but empty and again one cannot open the windows. The room had separate toilet that moved around when sitting on it as it was not well fixed to the pavement. Finally the ladies at reception were much more interested in what they were doing online rather than taking care of the clients. All in all, the hotel is not bad and well located but the town is literally full of nice B&B offering a wide number of better alternatives for a reasonable price. This place is so expensive for what you really get.

  Awful overpriced guesthouse

  First of all, this is not a hotel. It's just a house and the owner rents a couple of old rooms. My experience was awful. There was no hot water, they didn't clean the room and most of the time there was no one at the reception. It is far far overpriced for this kind of accommodation!

  This Hotel is near street, so it was easy to find it, but the i found, that there is no parking place. So i was forced placing car in big Parkplatz. Fortunately it was only 200m from Hotel. It costs 5 eur for 24h. Our room was nice, i can' t complain. In addition bathroom was spacious and separate toilet.
