  Not as bad as reviews make out

  A group of us stayed on Saturday night 5couples, after reading all the reviews we were all very worried. However we were pleasantly surprised. Yes from the outside the hotel need a bit of improvement but we found our rooms to be very clean and spacious. We did not eat there so cannot comment. The bar was very limited and a bit dreary but we were going out anyway so didnt affect our stay. Please dont be put off by all the bad reviews, the staff were friendly and helpful (except for when the receptionist totally spoilt the surprise for one of our group!) and Im sure if your room wasnt up to scratch they would happily change it for you.

  Terrible

  I stayed for 1 night and attended a business function the following day. Firstly the overnight stay at check in the receptionist was very friendly and professional. The room I was allocated was little more than a broom cupboard with a small frosted glass window and a very old and rickety single bed which was very uncomfortable. On a plus point the bathroom was a decent size but the fittings were old and not in great shape. Breakfast the next morning was like a comedy of errors at one point I was starting to look for the hidden cameras. Myself and my colleagues were ignored for 20 minutes until someone came and took our order. We had to repeatedly ask for tea and coffee until we eventually got a pot of coffee the cooked breakfast was definitely not worth the wait and it was quite a wait. Poached eggs that could bounce black pudding that was dipped in some type of warm grease for 30 seconds. Toast was a lucky dip some got it some didnt and the large damp patch on the ceiling added to the ambiance. The function was held in a large room coffee tea and bacon sandwiches were served eventually. The bacon sandwichs were good. Lunch was late and the food served was terrible, chicken skewers looked good but in fortunately they were under cooked. A bowl of part cooked potato wedges which looked to have been part cooked in warm oil was offered but very few people were brave enough to try them after the raw chicken saga. In summary the place is a disaster and I would never stay there again.

  Dirty, filthy, unhelpful staff, VERY VERY POOR

  Dirty cold mouldy rooms, staff couldn't run a hotel to save there life, paid for breakfast which in the morning was told we couldn't have due to the kitchen being out of action but offered no refund, tried to contact the hotel chain several times and absolutely no response. stay well away to avoid disappointment

  Afternoon Tea

  Just visited this lovely hotel for afternoon tea! it was excellent from start to finish we were looked after by Jade (Reception) and Ciaran (Food & Beverage) they are both a credit to the hotel they looked after us really well ! The food was one of the best we have experienced on our Afternoon teas exceptional !! full Mark's to the chef for such delicious treats ! We will definitely return x

  Amazing Prosecco brunch!

  This brunch was such good value for money, by far the best weve ever had. Lovely food (and very accommodating for vegetarians where they let my friend make a bespoke order from a long list of veggie options) and plenty of food. Nothing was too much trouble and the lady who served us was brilliant. Havent got a photo of the first course but the other photos are 2nd and 3rd course alongside unlimited tea, coffee, orange and apple juice and a glass of Prosecco. Couldnt believe the value for money- 100% would recommend. We went during COVID restrictions but the tables were safely apart, the dining area was clean and we were temperature checked on the way in so this was a really lovely experience.
