Any other just not hereMy wife and I thought we could enjoy a belated wedding anniversary. We got this hotel though a travel agent in Da Nang. The rooms are below average for a 3 star and the breakfast is below average even according to Vietnamese standards. There is not much wester food to choose from. We then decided to use the hotel spa. We were taken to different areas for the massage and I was them offered an inappropriate section to the massage! As I said pick any other hotel. Checking out early to go find a better hotel!

Nice hotel with excellent restaurantWe stayed here for 5 nights before heading to Hanoi. This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was nice. We stayed in the B hotel and it was very quiet and peaceful. I was most impressed with the restaurant. Although there is a number of restaurants in the city we are here every night. The quality of food was excellent, especially the ribs! As suggested in an earlier review, I would suggest using Vinasun taxis as they are very reasonably priced. Other taxi firms charge a lot more!

Clean room, friendly service, good breakfastNeeded to stay just for a night and it met expectations. The room, sheets and towels were crisp and clean. The TV had several English channels. The breakfast the next day surprised me as there was more variety than I expected. There were 2 live cooking stations: pho and egg. The buffet had Vietnamese and Continental options. When checking-in they asked to keep our passports for the night due to police checks, but I declined and requested them to keep a photocopy which they did. Staff is friendly, even when their English is not so good.

SMOKING HOTEL. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU WANT A NON-SMOKING HOTEL.If I could give this hotel negative stars for LYING, MISREPRESENTATION and FALSE ADVERTISING I definitely would. We were a party of 5, myself, my parents and my 2 aunts. We rented 3 rooms each night, total of 4 nights and given two in the party (my dad and aunt) had mobility issues we could not easily switch to another hotel after we checked in. This hotel is a smoking hotel but was advertised as non-smoking (I booked it because I and my dad have asthma and I generally do not want to inhale second-hand smoke every night if I can help it). All the rooms we stayed in had ashtrays in them and a smoke smell. I even took a picture of the ashtray on the coffee table as evidence. I am fluent in English only, however, my family with whom I was traveling with speak fluent Vietnamese and Cantonese so there was no way our interaction was a misunderstanding. When I complained with my mom and aunt to the front desk regarding the smoking hotel rooms, the front desk staff directed me to speak with the manager who was Cantonese-speaking. I voiced my concerns and the only thing this lady offered was to cover up the smell with a fragrance given I have such "sensitivity" to the smell of smoke (her words) and she said they could not enforce their guests not to smoke though it is not allowed. However, I pointed out that placing ashtrays in every room sent a mixed message to their guests (she verified ASHTRAYS WERE PRESENT IN EVERY ROOM). It also wasn't part of the hotel's practice to advise their guests NOT to smoke (we certainly were not advised at all). I informed the manager I booked this hotel for its non-smoking rooms because I have asthma (my dad also has asthma) and I do not want to inhale second-hand smoke. My concerns fell to deaf ears. She and the staff didn't think it was a big deal to advertise themselves as non-smoking when in fact they are a smoking hotel. I ended up needing to switch the rooms to rooms with windows that could actually open AND bought a mosquito net so that I could sleep at night with the windows open. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NON-SMOKING ROOM OR IF YOU VALUE HONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES. Other more minor concerns: The air conditioning would go off after a few hours of being on no matter the setting. This defeats the purpose of keeping the room at a cool even temperature in the heat of Southeast Asia but likely they do this to keep guests from over-using the A/C. My aunts' room's air conditioning never even got that cool when the air was on.

Terrible serviceMy friend and I arrived at around 10pm after a very long day of flying, the person at the desk was polite but not very happy. We were shuffled through a lane way to the B grade section of the hotel and were put in a room that had a leaking toilet, the hot water had to be running for about 15mins before it got warm and the ceiling above the shower was moldy and caving in! Due to the cleaner not wanting to fix the toilet until morning, we asked to change rooms. In this process the staff were not very happy or understanding. We were the only people staying in the hotel as it seemed. The breakfast was hideous. We asked for an extra pillow each and the lady at the desk said no. We called reception one night to ask for ice as I had fell down the stairs and hurt my ankle and they said no. We asked for the reception to call a taxi for us a few times and they were very abrupt and not at all happy to help. There were often people smoking in the lobby area which was not very inviting. I wouldnt recommend this hotel.
