Great stay for my honeymoonThe staff and beach were unbelievable or close to it for our rate. I really recommend this hotel for a quiet high quality stay. We felt well treated the entire time we were here and the staff made us feel like family. Can't really remember the bad except the roof top patio isn't maintained which is a shame

Very quiet and close to beachA very quiet an relaxing place to stay. Room was clean, and good. The garden which is lovely literally backs on to the beach. The beach is quiet, and safe to swim in. Breakfast was good, and Rolando arranged a trike to get me into town for an evening meal so I could see a little more of Hinunangan.

Beachfront property seen better daysIsolated location right on Tahusan beach. When I walked in there was no signage so I stood in an area that looked like a past used reception area with a table and chairs. A guy appeared who brought back check in registration paper and showed me to my room. I had prepaid via Booking.com for a superior double room with breakfast. He advised me where the bar and restaurant were located but no offer of wifi password, breakfast sitting times or anything else. No signage or information provided in the room so I had to ask. The TV wasn't connecting to the cable subscription so a guy went off to purchase a 'loop'. This problem was fixed 1-2 hours later. There is a separate small building acting as the bar. I asked the staff person the wifi password which he did not know. I asked a lady at the restaurant when I went for dinner and she came back 5 minutes later with the password written on a piece of paper and advised me that the wifi only works when you stand outside the kitchen building which was correct. My Smart data worked nowhere. Booking.com states wifi all areas but that's by no means correct. My room had 2 double beds (individually sheeted) side by side with 1 large bedspread. Comfortable enough. There was a closet either side of the beds plus a short wooden bench. The aircon was quiet and worked well and same for the ceiling fan. The lighting could be improved. I could only find 2 power points which were located together in an awkward place. You either sit your phone etc on the floor or the end of the bed (and step over to go to the bathroom). The room safe was the smallest I've ever come across it bordered on cute. The bathroom had a separate shower with curtain. The water only attained lukewarm but the water pressure was okay. I guess the room configuration has the flexibility to entertain a 4 person dorm, 2 couples swingers or up to 4 persons in bed together. The day I checked in in appeared they were overstaffed with staff sitting/standing around with their phones. I doubt the Owners have ever invested in staff training. All the plastic tables and chairs in the restaurant are covered and in the common areas there were plastic chairs looking old and mouldy. Not synonomous with a 'boutique' hotel. There were 2 groups (4 and 16) when I went to diinner my first night, so assuming there there was only 1 cook I expected a long wait. The menu is comprehensive to say the least. As well as the wine list. The cook must have a wealth of cooking knowledge. It was about 45 minutes before my mango shake arrived. My spaghetti carbonara around 1 hour which was not authentic though the spaghetti was nicely cooked. I also had the calarmares on my second night which was good. The inclusive breakfast was a choice of American or Philippino. I had the American which was very very good. There are some old plastic chairs and a table directly outside on the sand under tree shade. No sunloungers. The owners visited when I was checking out and they were kind enough to give me a lift to the bus terminal. Overall, I think many people would find things to complain about eg room decor, customer service, wifi etc. Would I stay here again? Yes, but given the price points for what is marketed as a boutique hotel I think it falls short. Seems strange there has been no reviews before mine since 2017. Not sure why that is.
