  A nice quiet base for exploring Cambrai and surrounding area

  We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the area and it was a good experience from start to finish. Easy to find and plenty of parking available. The staff were helpful and attentive on arrival, our room was clean, warm and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We had a continental breakfast included and we were given the option to have it brought to the room which was nice, it was basic but included fresh bread, butter, jam, pastries, coffee and juice which we found more than enough. This residence is also a retirement home for the elderly but it doesnt affect the stay in any way, the residents are very friendly and the whole place is extremely quiet and peaceful. It is about 20 mins walk in to the town centre where there is a good choice of shops and restaurants and there was an excellent bakery about 5 mins walk away. There was nothing specific that we did not like, the only recommendation I would make is some extra items in the kitchen area as it is advertised as an apartment, there were no sharp knives, not even a suitable bread knife in the land of the baguette. There were also no bowls which meant you couldnt have cereal or soup. These may have been available if we had asked but it would be nice if they were already in the room
