  Woodland walks and Coypu

  We, as a couple have just returned from a two week stay in France (see separate review of our brilliant stay in Mesquer) having had a wonderful time. One of our highlights of renting this apartment were the evening walks aroung the golf course to spot the wildlife. Jays, Green Woodpeckers and Coypu were top of the list. The latter, i know is a destructive little beast, looking like a giant rat, but with the benign demeanor of a guinea pig it was a welcome distraction from what is really a very average looking golf course. The apartments thermselves as booked through britttany ferries, were bland and lacking in privacy but were clean and well equipped. The Queven golf club was closed at 6.30 in the evening so there was nowhere to walk to to a bar or cafe. We recommend a trip around Pont Scorffe with its art and craft trail but the village itself was lacking in a good cafe. My husband refused to pay out for us to go to the zoo, which was fair enough at 18 Euros each in scorching heat, but for families it is only 2 miles away from the apartments and a good attracting. Beaches are plentiful at a drive of 25 minutes or catch the local number 55 from Queven - only 1.35 Euros per trip. Don't bother with Lorient - it is a terrible place - not its fault as we bombed it and only left 15% of it!

  Ideal holilday base in lovely south Brittany

  We stayed in a 2 bedroomed house in this lovely modern well planned holiday development in August. The house had two double bedrooms upstairs with a double bed in one room and two singles in the other (which could be jointed together to make a double if required). The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is a little patio area and garden to the rear with garden furniture. The house is very compact but well laid out. There was a settee in the living area which could be used as a bed if necessary. I think it would have been a tight squeeze to fit 6 people in these houses (they are advertised as such) but was perfect for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). There is a swimming pool on site, a sauna and table tennis. Access to Wi-Fi is only available at the Reception and not in the individual properties. This holiday development is in a beautiful tranquil area adjacent to Queven Golf Course and within easy access to many lovely attractions. There is a 45 euro cleaning charge on vacating the house or there is an option to clean it yourself and it will be inspected! I would highly recommend this lovely accommodation as an ideal base for exploring beautiful Brittany. I hope the high standards of cleanliness, maintenance etc. will be maintained. I would love to stay here again.

  Ideally situated!!!

  This place is ideal, as the city of Lorient is a 10 mins drive.We stayed in an modern 2 bedroom apartment during the annual international celtic festival. Although we had a broken shower head and had to drag our heavy baggages from the car park to the apartment, which is not practical, it was a pleasant stay. The gardens are maintained,apartments spacious and clean and more so reasonably quiet. The tv is for hire at a reasonable weekly rate. The swimming pool was no great treat as the water was not a pleasant temperature. They offer a bread service which is handy although there is a large supermarket in the village of Queven. Wifi is available in the public areas such as Reception and the areas surrounding it. There are many places one can visit using this as base- Carnac, Quiberon, Concarneau and the historic Submarine base. Friendly staff although inefficient.
