    Lugar paradisiaco

A fantastic stay at a wonderful location

We stayed one night in a private appartment with 2 kids. The decor is ancestral but the facilities very up to date. Wifi worked well and throughout the domain. The spa is superb and the staff are vrry attentive to all needs. Expensive but well worth the visit.

    Immense charm and character.

We stayed for three nights. The hotel has charm and character by the bucketload and is sympathetically integrated into the coastline with excellent views of the gulf of Morbihan. The room was comfortable: good bed, TV, fridge/minibar and safe. Limited storage space. Bathroom a good size (two sinks) and well up to 4 star rating. The staff were friendly, attentive, helpful and professional (and yes someone did take our baggage to our room). The spa is very good with two pools (we only used the indoor one which was excellent). Nice loungers with good views. Sauna, hamman and tepidarium and a heated slab called a gommage (nope, me neither). Overall very comfortable. Downsides? Well there was limited storage space and any couple spending a week here would be hard pressed to unpack entirely. The breakfasts were rather eclectic. They eschew the normal routine and have elected to offer a choice of four bespoke menus including one offering oysters and fish. The four were all different but gave the impression of being crafted to avoid having to have anyone on hand to cook anything. Not that they were unpleasant but they were, well, different. Enjoyed our time and would return. See separate review for the restaurant.

EXCEPTIONAL, but room 6 needs updating and FAST !

We spent 8 nights at this hotel: THE POSITIVE: 1. the restaurant is exceptional and deserves its Michelin Star ! 2. the breakfasts (oysters for breakfast, such a treat) - the breakfast menus are fixed but you can mix them up or add items. For example, my husband added fried eggs on ham (no extra cost) and one table next to us ordered a large plate of cheeses and another an assortment of fruits. The woman who served us was fantastic and granted us all our wishes. 3. the lounge and its view (outside and inside) 4. the new spa facilities (order ahead any treatments - we didn't and were not able to have a massage - nevertheless we enjoyed the facilities. 5. Enjoyed the Bar à Coquillage. The food was excellent ! Unfortunately, it closes at 19:00. We would go at 18:30 and stay on... THE NEGATIVE: 1. the room we had needs updating - the shower is one of those plastic cubicles - it must be 20 years I have not showered in one of those (YUK). The decor was also oppressive and ugly (reds and browns - YUK). We had room six - Jouenne. 2. There are no activities offered by the hotel other than the Spa - impossible to rent a kayak without driving for 45 minutes. In fact, other than two small beaches, you have to drive at least 30 minutes to see or do anything.

    World class experience

We had the pleasure of staying three nights in a large private suite. The service, the cuisine (one star Michelin), the spa, the ambiance and the grounds were everything one could and should expect from a Relais & Chateaux experience. A must when visiting the area.
