Lovely chateau in superb settingA magnificent old chateau in lovely grounds. Tastefully decorated with original styling and decor but slighted faded in a shabby chic manner. Bed linen was beautiful. Lovely indoor pool that was clean and quiet. Excellent dinner. A welcome overnight stay.

Lovely settingWe stayed here during the Moto GP at Le Mans and were very glad that we did so. This is a lovely little chateau which is an easy 30 minutes ride away from the circuit and feels lovely and calm after the bustle of Le Mans. We stayed in a double room independance which is basically part of a chalet block in the woods a five minute walk away from the Chateau itself. The room is basic but spacious enough for two people and the shower room is very smart. The one thing that lets it down is the fact the room itself has no window, just the glass door so it's quite dark in the room. The door has a roller shutter for privacy but the room lights really aren't bright enough to read by as they are eco friendly bulbs that just don't cut it. This may not sound like much BUT if you don't speak French you can't watch the TV so you'll want to read. I dhould add that the bed was very comfortable and the sheets were of a high standard. We ate in the restaurant twice in the evening and ate there for breakfast every morning and the food was of a pretty good standard considering the few staff they have here. The GloucestershireBonny review is of no consequence here as this was obviously written when the previous owners had this establishment. I would recommend this place if you want a nice quiet place to stay that isn't overpriced and I would suggest that you contact the hotel directly a it will be cheaper than using a web based site. One last point to mention.....There's red squirrels in the woods, so cute!

Great wedding and event venue! We stayed here with a baby for my sister's wedding. We had a wonderful time! The beds were comfortable and the rooms were well kept. The towels were brand new and crisp white. Nice setting and nice weather. Food was amazing! For weddings, I'd recommend to rent sound equipment as for speeches there was no mic to hear it until end of room and no 'ambiance' music. Nevertheless had a great time!

We stayed here for the weekend of the Le Mans ClassicI will start by saying that we were in party that booked the entire chateau for the weekend. I think that must have made a difference. I am sure the chateau is lovely but the rooms in the annexes are not. A good number of those rooms have no windows, no WiFi, nowhere to store valuable and no soap in the bathrooms. Avoid them unless they are very cheap. The service in the hotel ranged from poor to non-existent. At 5pm on Sunday there were no staff on duty so we couldnt get a drink of any sorts. The chateau was actually locked up. When the owner was around his attitude ranged from dismissive to indifferent. The breakfast was basic. You can almost certainly do better...

One night stayWe booked to stay in the annex room as they are all ground floor. After checking in they proceeded to lead us up the staircase and I advised we had booked the annex. They hadnt prepared the room but was quickly turned around whilst we enjoyed a drink on the terrace. The room was perfectly adequate for one night. We ate in their restaurant in the evening, the food was delicious but felt a little rushed, we were the only people in the restaurant, maybe the chef wanted to go home? The food and drinks were not cheap here, we paid more for the two course meal than for the room. We were travelling to southern Spain and would stay here again as a stopover.
