A decent little hotelSt Petersburg is not a cheap city regarding hotels, so you definitely pay a lot for relatively little. However, if you forget about St Petersburg prices, then this was a very nice hotel. There are only six rooms, but the reception is manned 24-hours and the breakfast buffet is decent considering the size of the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and keen to help with maps, umbrellas and weather forecasts. The room we had was quiet and very clean (room number six doesn't face the street, so it is very quiet). Entrances to hotels, flats and even shops in Russia are often very humble compared to what lies behind the front door, so don't be put off by the stair case or the smelly lift when you arrive. Location if great, only about 15 minutes walk from main tourist area. It is not a posh neighbourhood, but there are plenty of people on the street as it is close to a Metro, plenty of cafes/restaurant and little shops so it feels very safe. If you are going to St Petersburg, then this is a good place to stay.

Bed bugs - skip this hotelEnd September 2014 I stayed at the Dom Vyazemskoy hotel (part of chain Acme- Hotels) in Saint Petersburg together with my girlfriend. Our WARNING: DONT GO upcoming period to this hotel. They have bed bugs. I slept there and was bitten around 60 bites. Of course I warned the hotel staff and asked what they can do. The management refused to give any refund or cost compensation. For your idea: if you suffered bed bugs, all clothes/bags need to be washed/dry cleaned to prevent the bed bugs spread them further and bring them in home. The only they offered was a discount for next stay So as the city has many nice hotels, pick another if you want a stay without terrible itching!

Very comfy and cozy place near Nevsky avenue...The hotel is not far from Nevsky avenue, I had room number 8 it was very quit, it is very rare in St Petersburg mini hotels. You can choose breakfast from three cases. It will be served in your room. Almost all was good for me, only the district is full of homeless, migrants and people with a great problems with alcohol. Anyway - it was very comfortable in my room, so I had a good time there. Staff was very friendly. In the room good air conditioning system was installed, and the room itself was very clean and comfy.

ComfortableClean and nice. Water system is noisy. I think it's retrofitted in a sort of funny way. The elevator is the size of a coffin- literally one adult and maybe a decent suitcase per trip. The staff seem to be well meaning young women. They are all very nice and helpful. The room itself is spotless and attractive. We paid a high price because of the world cup, but I'd have been vey happy at the normal price.
