  Great apartment i Old Town

  We was met by a very helpful man who gave us much useful information about the house and Gdansk town. The apartment was spacious and in good condition. Very good beds (dobbelbeds - did not use the sofabed), nice decorated and good kitchenfacilities. Some noise in the morning from the street. Compared to hotel, this is great value.

  Do not stay here

  This has been the worst experience with a hotel ever. I booked Dom & House in October based on where it was located on the map. After I booked I realized there wasnt an address, it had various address and you had to contact them for the address. Fine. I sent them multiple emails asking for the address. Never heard from them. I then contacted Expedia where I did the booking and they sent them an emailing asking for the address. All I got in return was an email confirmation for my stay. That doesnt help when Im trying to map out my trip. I wait a few months thinking I just had to wait until my trip was closer. A month before I my trip I send them another email asking for the address. Still no contact. Very sketchy. I contact Expedia again a week before the trip hoping they can get ahold of them. Every time I they call they said they havent talked to the right person yet no one has an address. By now I dont want to stay at this awful place. I tell them I want to cancel because its sketchy and they wont even give me an address. Of course this is when the hotel says sorry you signed a no cancellation policy. Yet they still didnt give me an address! This hotel seems like theyre just taking money from people and ripping them off. Do not stay here at all.

  Great Location - Shame about the check in.

  There are several Dom and House apartments in Gdansk. This review is specifically about the "Old Town" complex. Very nice clean, modern apartment in a secure complex. Ours was a one bed studio which was quite small but had adequate facilities and space for a short stay. Large balcony overlooking the courtyard pictured in the tripadvisor heading which was very pleasant. No air conditioning as far as I could see which could be an issue in Summer. The apartment very was clean on arrival but there is no daily service so the rest is up to you. There is also a standard "final cleaning" fee payable on arrival which I think was about £30. The location is truly excellent and would be hard to beat at the price. The area has numerous shops bars and restaurants and the Crane on the riverside is only a 2 minute walk away. The only issue is the check in procedure (5* review if not for this). There is no reception so we were advised to contact the property at least 72 hours before arrival. This was a bit difficult as we only booked 48 hours in advance. We phoned and initially and got no reply but when we did we were told we would receive a text message once we arrived in Poland telling us what to do. This was quite stressful but sure enough we did receive the message and we were met at the arranged time and place by a very helpful lady who gave us the keys and information. What would happen if you did not have access to a mobile or as flat battery? Clear instructions before arrival should not be too difficult. Except for that - a great place to stay in a superb location. I would stay again.

  Great location

  Great location at the very beginning of the Gdansk promenade. Ideal for visiting the Old Town, all main attractions are in walking distance. Great value for money if traveling with family or group. Quiet and comfy.

  Huge ant (small insect) invation in the appartment

  We rented an big appartment in Septemer '18 and the appartment had at huge ant problem. We had houndreds of ants (small insect animals) in the appartment. In the hallway, bathrom, bedroms (and bed), kitchen and luggage. They came from outside in the garden and the management knew about them withou informing us. This had happende many times before. They showed little interest in fixing the problem and if Hotels.com had not fixed our problem we would had been sent to the street with no place to live. There is no reseption, only a phonenumber to Call, which they don't pick up. I addition there is a very aggressive security man at the gate that talks in private phonecalls all day. If you are lucy and the pick up the phone when you call, they are rude and unprofessional in handeling customers. The ants and bugs followed us home in our suite cases and all clothes and equipment had to ble cleaned. I would not recoment this apratmenthotel to my worst enemy, in spite of the great loacation.
