    Dolphin Point

Had a quick one night stay over at Dolphin Point. Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice quiet room which has a very lovely view of the Indian Ocean. DSTV was available in the room. The breakfast was a traditional breakfast and was very well cooked Thanks

Nice seaview but problems with cleanliness and privacy...

I spent a month at Dolphin Point, and although the owner seemed helpful and the people were generally nice, there wasn't much privacy or quiet enjoyment of the space. The grounds were damaged by October storms and required daily work - still in process - which would have been OK for a few days but continued nonstop during most of my stay. It was noisy and disruptive sweeping, rocks being moved, etc. The sound of the work itself was mildly annoying, but even worse my room was in a location where someone was constantly walking by and looking in my door - staff, contractors, other guests. I got sick and therefore was in the room more than normal. I left the curtains open for the sunlight and sea view. Since it was open, that seemed to be an invitation for anyone to just come inside - scared me out of my wits more than a few times. I mentioned this to the owner who says he addressed it but I didnt notice that anything changed. The pool was next to my accommodation, and when guests used the it there was yelling, splashing, and screaming. The owner has tried to address this with a wooden lattice fence. I really wasnt able to enjoy the pool, as it wasnt appealing with work and dust and noise going on every day. My privacy is extremely important to me, and I'm on a long trip. Had I known about these things, unlikely I would have stayed here. I mentioned in my booking that I needed a quiet, private space. I dont think the staff understands the concept of privacy and just how difficult long-term travel accommodation can be. Only those who have experienced extended travel can relate to the indignities of being at the mercy of others for your bed and food and often losing all semblance of privacy and respect for your personal space. I thought the cleaners did a very poor job of identifying things that needed attention. My room needed a thorough DEEP cleaning refrigerator, rugs, drapery, furniture, everything rather than a light cursory surface tidying up!! I defrosted the refrigerator the day I arrived as there was so much ice accumulation I couldnt get the freezer portion closed. The refrigerator was very dirty I cleaned it myself. I had to ask for the windows and rugs to be cleaned. I dont know whose cleanliness standards are being used at this accommodation, but they might want to take a look at this. The owner seems to listen but manages from afar and nothing much changes

    One word Outstanding!!!

This Guest house was a absolute pleasure to stay at. we stayed for 2 weeks and when time came to go home, we wished we could stay. The view is beautiful and the rooms are cleaned everyday. there was a little kitchen area and nice big shower and both the rooms had air corn. Breakfast was very good and the Host Andre was personally there every morning to greet us. He also was very helpful with our planning for activities. The guesthouse is safe and secure with amble parking and grass play area for the kids. A lovely swimming pool entertained the kids for the whole stay We loved our time with this guest house and will recommend them to anyone. We will definitely return for a visit

    Incredible

Had an incredible weekend at Dolphin Point Amanzimtoti. Facilities were clean and service was great. The view was by far the best part though. Close by to Amanzimtoti main beach and Galleria mall. We would definitely return!
