    shame shame shame

Great setting Very good staff on sight. These people badly let down by the neglect of the buildings and contents Very shabby rooms needs refurbishing desperately. 10/12years ago must have been excellent

What a dump! Unanswered letter to Divi corporate follows:

My wife and I just returned from a trip we had saved for and planned at your resort. After the planning, organizing, travel time, expense and anticipation we arrived and immediately found we had been badly conned. Like buying swamp land in Florida conned. We checked in to Divi Heritage to begin our vacation of a lifetime and were literally shocked by what we saw. Other furious horrorstruck guests were checking out as fast as they checked in or were needing different accommodations. My wife was in tears and I struggled to contain my anger at being swindled. Almost nothing appeared as the website and pictures illustrated. In point form, some of the disgusting deficiencies immediately apparent: No beach or beachfront No tour or activities desk No staff Nothing across the street in the way of markets or restaurants or stores No WiFi No safe No hair dryer No fully equipped kitchen One towel No running water in bathrooms No hot water anywhere One tiny crt TV with no remote Luxury room had filthy broken furniture in disarray and garbage on the broken floor There were none of the promised amenities available at the adjacent club guests of Divi are outsiders and not welcome The entire resort is overgrown and filthy, in a dilapidated state of no maintenance and disrepair, and without hot or running water its virtually uninhabitable. Its easy to guess that health and safety issues are prevalent Please see the following pictures of what the resort really looks like I passed my concerns to your 2 site employees but they only debated me as if the problems didnt exist. We spent the first 2 exhausted and exhausting days of our vacation seeking other accommodation as any decent places were full. We werent happy with what we finally were able to end up with but we were stranded. It was still infinitely better than the Divi Heritage. Congratulations on a successful rip-off. You ruined our vacation.

    Worst hotel experience ever

We stayed at Divi Heritage Beach Resort January 23-26. It was our worst hotel experience ever. We were first put in a suite (I forget the number) that was close to the sea, but also right next to a canal that reeked of sewage that was apparently flowing into the sea. The suite was awful. The kitchen and especially the cabinets were very dirty. Furniture was quite worn. There was only one working lamp in each room, although there were a couple others with no light bulbs. The bathroom light fixture had half of the bulbs burned out. The smoke detector and fire extinguisher were missing. The worst was the bathroom. Beyond the jacuzzi tub was a ledge. If you looked up from the ledge there was a shaft opening to a skylight at the top. Within that column was an open window to something on the second floor (probably the suite above us) so someone could climb into our bathroom from above. At the top of the shaft was drywall that had obviously been wet and was crumbling, moldy and falling down. We asked if we could be moved to a different room and were told none were available. The wifi didnt work, so we walked down the street to a bar with wifi and called Booking.com. Their rep was very concerned and said he would do everything he could to cancel our reservation with a full refund. However, our best way to find another place to stay would be to look on-line ourselves. Barbados was very busy due to a big cricket match and at that time in the evening we had no luck in finding another place. So we decided to stick it out for one night and see what we could find the next day. Upon returning to the resort, there was a new front desk manager. I let her know what we were planning and she made a call and confirmed that someone had not shown up and there was now another room available. We moved into it, although we had to bring our luggage (they have no assistance for this), bedspread, towels, tissues, etc. from the first room. The new room was definitely an improvement, but still not up to snuff. So the rest of this review should provide some insight to the resort as a whole and not just our first room. Everything is many years old and much maintenance has been deferred. This kitchen and especially the cabinets were very dirty and appliances had rust spots. Obviously, wifi still didnt work. There was no hot water. Toilet paper holders had no bar. Floor tiles were cracked. They do provide beach towels, but it took two days of asking to get them. The nice thing was that it is a large suite. The resort and the suites certainly dont look like the pictures we saw on the resorts or the Bookings.com websites. Although the resort is called a beach resort, the website does say that they have no beach and you can use the beach and pool at The Club Barbados next door. It is a beautiful all-inclusive resort and we could go there to use the facilities. However, they also do not have a beach. This area of the coast is very rocky and the sea is about 15 feet below the rock wall. They do have a small area of sand at the top of the rock wall with beach chairs, so perhaps that can be considered a beach. The pool complex is very nice. The problem was as an all-inclusive resort, you couldnt just buy a drink. You had to buy a day pass or a meal pass and those were prohibitively expensive. I should also point out that the hot tub shown in the pictures for Divi Heritage is no longer there. There are a few chairs at the top of its rock wall where you can sit and watch the sunset over the sea.

    No room

Arrived at hotel after travelling from airport , on entering reception there was another man there being told that they were over booked and he had been booked in another apartment, hed went and looked and was bsck in 5 min not happy with it . They offered me it and i turned it down as had looked before booking Divi and did not want to stay there We tried to find other hotels but were expensive and would not book them . Then a couple turned up and were also told no rooms and they were transferred to hotel between Oistens and St Lawrence gap . Àfter talking to staff they put me there for 3 days as then someone was moving out of Divi and i could get their room , guess the who ever was booked in would be told sorry over booked . The staff told me this was common occurrence and knew months before. When i arrived back at hotel again some one was being told sorry over booked . This is very poor and suspicious that they were selling rooms at higher prices and not honouring previous bookings . Very bad practice by hotel

    Derelict and bankrupt

Stayed next door to this resort which is derelict and bankrupt for a month. Sewage leaking all over the seaward side of the property stank to high heaven for most of our stay. Be warned and beware. Needs massive work to become operational and fit for tourists again.
