Never again!!!Paid premium. Dust bowl, very un level site, next door to us had large caravan, annexe and then a huge tent making it very cramped. Had ok view until more of their friends turned up and just parked their car in middle of unpowered site and used for parking. Park needs to be monitored as I know some of these people just rocked up and not paid etc. inconsiderate people making it very uncomfortable and we didnt enjoy it at all Will never return unless the park is monitored better!! These same people constantly complaining and saying kids in their canoes shouldnt be near boats even though they werent using theirs. And there were at least 20 boats going!!! Unsafe

best holiday everIt is a great place for kids to have fun in a lake especially with a inflated water trampoline in the middle of the lake with life jackets that keep you safe. the pools were pretty clean there was a water park for kids. the place was well maintained no rubbish to be seen the bathrooms were so clean that anyone would love it. there were canoes, paddle boats to hire. The lake was clean no rubbish a fun place to swim. a great place to camp. there was a park and a bouncing pillow that was so fun I went there with friends and family and had the best holiday ever i recommend this to everyone who loves camping. there was a good maintained kitchen BBQ and everything that you need that you cannot bring along. there was electricity to use to charge phones to play music and loads more it was the best holiday ever!!!!:-D i was the best i would love to go there again i recommend it to every one. there is the best facilities to use . the best lake. the best pool and the best water park. everyone is friendly and there is a close shop if youb do not have something you need there is a pizza shop near by which you can order to eat.

Overrated ParkAfter hearing so many great things about Lake Bonney I booked a stay with some friends to celebrate my 40th. First impression was not a good one as we arrived on check in time only to be told our cabin was not ready and the staff at the front desk would call in about 30 minutes when ready which they didnt. The weather was extremely hot so was looking forward to cooling off at the pool. The pools were extremely dirty with a layer residue at the top of the water. The two pools were also over crowded, which was less than ideal when wanting to enjoy some recreational activity. We paid over $1000.00 to stay four nights in a standard cabin. The room on arrival was ridiculously hot. The write up said full kitchen facilities so was disappointed to find no toaster for toasting bread. The fridge didnt seem super cold, and we think only turned immediately prior to our arrival in the room. So the food we bought up in the car was unable to be cooled down straight away. My husband had to sweep the floor on arrival. Our friends camped and their camp site was a dust bowl - no grass. We ended up leaving on day three not staying the last night as wed done everything and there really was nowhere to escape the heat unless you wanted to sit in a filthy pool again. Safe to say we will not return as I can think of many other places I can go for $1000 that offer a lot more.

Great park for families! We really enjoyed our stay. I had read the reviews before we arrived so was well prepared for the dirt and dust. Our powered site was dirt and stones but there was a few nice grass sites taken around us I would try and book next time! We were in c block on the map and right near the toilets and camp kitchen which was handy! The park has two pools, splash park with waterslides, jumping pillow, pump track and a great play ground. Its right on the lake so great for people with boats. There is a man made beach also which the kids like playing at and we hired kyaks. There was a water trampoline for the bigger kids out on the lake. I was worried about the toilet blocks after reading reviews, but they were very clean. I noticed they were cleaned at least 3 times a day. It would be hard to maintain as there are kidding running around and the park is all dirt so there is always going to be a little dirt on the floors even after cleaning. Showers had really good water pressure and no troubles with hot water. They had a disco for kids at the water park one night - this was great!! The park is huge and very busy, but we were lucky to be in a quiet section and no troubles with noise. I would avoid the front lake view sites near the reception as there seemed to be a strong foul smell coming from that area like sewerage. If you are booking an ensuite site check the map also as they all seem to be At the very back of the park. The back pool is much nicer than the front pool so staying near there or in the middle where we stayed would be the best option. We would definitely return!!

Our SA Tourism Voucher experienceWe couldnt believe what we got for what we paid. So very disappointed. We stayed two nights and using a SATIC voucher discount of $50 the balance we paid was $278 for two nights in the smallest, oldest cabin sitting at the back of the park in dirt, down a dirt track, no landscaping, no view and with the smallest oldest bathroom. Tiny cabins are in but this one was ridiculous! You had to move sideways round the double bed, squeeze between furniture. Had to stand in door way between bathroom and bedroom to dry yourself after showering as shower alcove up against basin up against toilet. Width of bathroom was less than a metre and length about three metres long. Couldn't pull chairs out from table for the oversized dirty sofa was blocking access. We had to complain twice before they reluctantly agreed to move us. We stayed recently in Tanunda in Safari Tent that experience was way ahead on this one and the park there beautifully laid out and landscaped. Would thoroughly recommend it. We stayed at The Oval Hotel also using city tourism voucher and the kicker is we paid less per night to stay there than what we paid for that cabin and it included a welcome drink, breakfast and friendly staff. Back to Lake Bonney I asked staff if they had seen this cabin and they said no, they should know their product. I recommended they go take a look at what they are booking people in. During our time in park we met with another couple who were also experiencing same problem, what they had booked was not what they got. So disappointing when other cabins were empty. This experience has done nothing to entice us back to beautiful Lake Bonney which was somewhere for us at the front of the park, just weave through the parked up stored caravans, permanent sites, over the dirt tracks, through all the parked RVs and you'll see the lake. Nah not again!
