    Good experience

We visited recently stayed in a dog friendly cabin. Although small it was very clean and a lot nicer than wed expected. The park is a nice size with loads of things to do for kids. A great base to explore the wider Barossa region and attractions (Maggie Beers, lavender farm and cellar doors). Although the weather was terrible for the time of year we really enjoyed our mini break here with our little dog and would stay here again.

    Pleasantly Surprised

My partner and I stayed overnight on a Friday. We got there about 1pm and despite being told we cant check in until 2pm they let us check in early. Despite this the reception desk are not a friendly bunch! Check out is 10am and there is No Late Check out. They were very insistent on that! We had booked one of the Safari Tents. Which are in a separate area to the rest of the park. The area is over 18 and has its own communal bbq area and pool. The area is away from the main park so there is little noise from the other campers. The pool area is a good size, although the safety glass could do with a clean, same as the pool itself. (It was full of leaves) there was also loads of ants. So impossible to lay on the ground by the pool. The pool also has a heated spa. The tents are fairly new. They are very clean with a well equipped kitchen and a good bathroom. The main bedroom has a/c. No TV though. After staying in something similar before, the tents were a pleasant surprise. Couldnt fault them. Our view over the fence was of vineyards and forests. We did have an issue with the pool pump. We were in the tent next to the pool and heard the pump all night. Overall we did enjoy our stay. The beds were comfy and the tent was clean. Did think the place was over priced. Its a tent and for that its not cheap. A lot of Hotels in the CBD are cheaper Would we stay again? Not in the same tent. Try for tents 2, 7 to 9. We would probably pay the extra $30 a night and stay at an actual hotel. With a TV, a clean pool, no ants and late checkout!

Great water park but thats about all

The water park would seem to be the highlight of this park but it absolutely goes downhill from there. We stayed on a supposedly grassed powered site yet there was not a blade of grass to be found. In fact all of the sites near us were just piles of dirt. On the plus side, the camp kitchen is well equipped when you can get in to use it and the park caters for kids with the water park, bouncing pillow, movies and a small playground. However the facilities did not appear to be cleaned at all throughout the weekend - the same squashed bug remained on the floor for our entire stay. The pool is big but the floor is gritty (probably due to the dirt sites) and the water was cloudy. All in all I would not stay here again. It was one of the most expensive parks but poorest quality parks we have stayed in and there are much better reasonably priced accomodation options in the Barossa.

    Disappointed

Being long time caravaners and Discovery Parks members, we were rather underwhelmed with this park. On the plus side, the ladies at reception were very friendly and professional. The park is only a 10 minute walk to the main street of Tanunda. Unfortunately, the minuses outweigh the pluses! The site we were allocated was very shallow, as were many no not call them roads were very narrow, making it difficult to access and depart sites. There is only one dump point for what is a relatively large park, and of course they managed to locate it at one end of the park, rather than nearer the middle amenities block which would be more central for everyone. Don't think we will be returning
