A nice hotel with better access to the piste than most...We booked this hotel for a sneaky late ski trip via Crystal. It is in a great position within a reasonable walk & ski to piste no. 34 and lift no. 24 with cracking views across the valley. It is a 20 min walk from the main resort shops etc up a winding road from the bottom of lift no. 24. The hotel and the legendary super helpful Walter provide a shuttle bus service to other parts of the resort (free at the start and end of the ski day). I think this might put off those who were looking for a proper apres-ski night out, but not us as we were a family trip. It is a converted monastery so it has some charming features with the facilities being pleasant enough (with the odd rough edge and "lived in" feel) but this is what I would absolutely expect given the 3* rating and the price (and other reviews). We made use of and enjoyed the spa and happy hour between 1630 -1730. The food was good with dinner and breakfast being very nice and varied. Staff were cheery and helpful. Given the chance we would return!

Very kind staffWe have chosen this hotel because of the location a bit out of the way from the town. After a rough start due to church school summer camps with young noisy kids the prompt intervention of the caring staff made everything change. They made an effort to make our staying the most comfortable possible. They really helped to make my daughter (who is ill) feel the most comfortable and to allow her staying to do what this vacation was supposed to do: feel better and help her recover. Luca, the maitre that was assigned to us was exceptionally nice and full of attentions and with the chef, they always try to make sure that we, and especially my daughter, would get the proper nutrition. Food was great, good choices and food quality. Thank you so much for making our staying absolutely exceptional.

Friendly and welcoming and excellent valueThe location was superb -beautiful views from the windows and easy ski in, ski out access to the slopes. The ski drying room was good too. Although it is a 15 minute walk into the town, it's a pleasant walk so never presented a problem, and also lifts were available if you needed it. The restaurant was really pretty and the food very good. They catered really well for my gluten free diet. All the staff were really friendly. The rooms, although basic provided everything we needed . The mattresses were quite hard, which will suit some people but not others, but I slept OK. The shower cubicles were a bit small, but always hot water with a good pressure and lovely soft fluffy towels so it was fine. They had a Happy Hour in the bar from 4.30, which we enjoyed, especially the snacks that were laid on. We would happily return.

Great RestaurantI stayed here with my wife in Feb 2020 on a ski holiday. We've been skiing to Passo Del Tonalo many times before but this was the first time we had stayed at this hotel. We got a late deal so weren't expecting the Ritz given the price but were pleasantly surprised The hotel is a bit isolated being the highest on the slopes and about 1 km by road from anything else. It's possible to ski / herring bone in / out of the hotel, which I did though many just caught the mini bus down to the ski lifts. Skiing out and across the pistes to the lifts is quicker than catching the mini bus but you will need to know where you are going. The boot room was pretty basic, well about as basic as it gets, but it worked surprising well, I've been in bigger boot rooms and found myself competing for space to get my boots on. Our room was basic but larger than you usually get in a ski resort, certainly not pokey. Staff were friendly and helpful. The area the place really scored in was the restaurant. While breakfast was average the evening meals were excellent. It's Italian food so if you want pizza and chips best go somewhere else. There was lots of variety in starters though usually only two options for first and second course and just one for dessert. On two nights they had themed evenings. Service in the restaurant was excellent, very quick and they soon got to learn their guest's preferences. So if you want all mod cons, or lots of night life or pizza and chips best look elsewhere. If you are happy with quiet, functional rooms and Italian food than this might be the place for you.
