The best hotel in Montes Claros

I do not know how many times we were guests at Dimas Lessa Hotel, but every time we go to Montes Claros this is our choice hotel. The staff is very attentive and courteous, always ready to meet us in any aspects that make our stay pleasurable. The terrace has a bar, pool, sauna and a small gym with some gym equipment. The rooms are large and airy, with large beds (queen or king sizes) and comfortable, equipped with air conditioning, flat screen TV and fridge. A large bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and very hot water. The breakfast is complete with cheeses, cold meats, yoghurts, fruit, salads, teas and coffees, scrambled eggs, sausages, breads and assorted crackers. The restaurant serves international and local cuisine either at lunch or dinner. The reception is always ready to provide us with accurate information about the city and places of interest. The hotel offers transfers to and from the airport as well as ample covered parking.

If you don't speak Portuguese - don't stay here!

I was surprised to learn that no one on this hotel including reception staff don't know a word of English. I couldnt get any assistance and they ended up ignoring me cause that couldn't communicate. Rooms are ok and have balconys. Great beds! Gym is very old and broken - not even worth giving it a try! Pool small but would be nice if surrounding bar had been open and the chairs at the pool area was not made of steel. Food is actually very good here - this saved my stay!

Old medium class hotel in an old medium class city

Dimas Hotel is certainly one of the historical places to stay in this unknown and not touristic city of Brasil. The rooms are bigs, very clean, whith conditioned air . All the furnitures are old and you have the feeling to be 30-40 years ago. There is a small pool on the roof, and and workout room butr with very old gear material. But it exists! A good restaurant, free wifi, and more than all a very friendly staff. All that for a very modest price. May be now you will find better hotels in the city. I think this one has a good price-quality balance. I stay here and I don't complain.

    The best place to stay.

Again we returned to Dimas Lessa Hotel for a brief stay and found the same friendly and professional service of other times. Although it is an old hotel, it has been properly maintained, so that it continue to meet all our expectations. The rooms are large and airy, the air conditioner is perfect and the fridge reasonably well set. Room service was correct and, when requested, the restaurant served us with courtesy and in a timely manner. The terrace remains the meeting place for our family thanks to the pool and sauna. The pool bar was not operating but, once again, the reception (many thanks to Mr Vandilson and Mr Gilmar) and the restaurant took care of everything so that we lacked nothing. Thus, we will continue to stay in this hotel that is, undoubtedly, the best hotel in Montes Claros.

    Room mixup!

I stayed there for 2 days in 2013. I booked a room over the phone and when I got there they gave me the wrong room and decided to charge me extra on checkout. I refused to pay because it was their mistake! The room was clean but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the stupidity of their staff. I would go with a cheaper hotel, even though you don't have the luxury, you have a better treatment.
