Tucked awayCame across these cottages last year whilst searching for somewhere to stay while I waited for a LIAT flight to Guadeloupe. I fell in love with the place. I fell in love with the kindness of the staff, their willingness to help and give details of things that were happening to enable you to participate in their islands culture. With this in mind I decided to spend a whole week there and invited a friend. Once again, we received the same kind of service. If anything went wrong there was always someone there to help even if was a temporary measure. They have well kept grounds, a small pool. Beautiful views, nice rooms..well equipped kitchen. Even cooked a roast chicken dinner there. My only beef is that maybe they could have a small tuck shop where you could buy some essentials on arrival for those who are unable to do the hill and walk down to the small supermarket. We will definitely come again, Dickensons. You know I love room 1! Bernadette (London) and Joby(Guadeloupe)

Great FindAfter experiencing a dirty villa at Halcyon Heights, Dickenson Bay Cottages were a breathe of fresh air. Immaculate accommodation, well maintained property. Quiet and a short walk to Dickenson Bay for the beach, bars and restaurants. We were lucky enough to get the last apartment available for the rest of our stay in Antigua. Thank you Karimah for a lovely stay.

Excellent! We used Dickenson Bay Cottages to accommodate a group of participants for a regional meeting in Antigua. It was clean, comfortable and a stone's throw away from the beach. The gardens are kept beautifully and staff are extremely accommodating. The manager is courteous, kind and extremely professional. We will definitely return here again!

Mixed bagFew guests will remember exactly how much they paid per night after they have left the hotel. But they will remember if there was no bottled water in the room, and none to be purchased without a taxi ride. They will also remember if the "free toiletries" were non-existent. Not even soap. But there were also positive features. The manager was helpful when I had a telephone problem. The cottages are grouped in attractive landscaping around a pool. My cottage was spacious, clean, and with a useful kitchen. After some repairs, the a/c worked well. The safe belongs in a museum, but it worked (cost $3 per day). The beach is some 5 minutes down a steep hill, which means longer going up! While it is legally a public beach, it is in fact appropriated by a row of hotels near the water and rather crowded.

Nice quiet cottages in pretty grounds - good locationSpacious cottages arranged around a central pool. Wifi was OK and AC worked well. Shower a little tricky to get a good stable temperature. Cleaned daily if required with fresh towels. No umbrellas with the sunbeds by the pool though. Located up a hill about 5 minutes walk from Dickenson Bay beach. No local grocery store - nearest decent store about 30 minutes walk away. No way of getting cash other than from ATM at food shop which was out of order while I was there. Next nearest was a further 20 minutes walk. There is a little "corner shop" near the beach for essentials. Dickenson Bay beach is very pretty and while I was there, not busy. Clean sands and safe swimming. St Johns is about a 20 minute drive away - there are infrequent buses or you can get a taxi for about US$20.
