Top floor #1401 - fantasticStayed for five nights in room #1401 which is the very top floor, oceanfront with 270 degree views. Great stop at the end of Kapiolani park. Nice condo/hotel unit with comfortable bedding, towels and furniture. Enjoyed the incredible views of diamondhead, ocean and Waikiki. Spent a lot of time hanging on the Lanai. Plenty of parking on the street. Easy checkin and purchase. Would stay here again.

Nice location & view, but 2 Star QualityThis review is for Room 501. Pros: - Nice location to where we wanted to be - Beautiful view from lanai - Spacious - Full kitchen - AC window units - Wireless - TV - Additional bedding Cons: - Very dated - No blackout curtains - Curtains threadbare, ugly, and old/broken that they could no longer provide adequate window coverage for privacy - Bathroom not well maintained (needs painting, sealant fixed around AC unit, properly fix problem covered over by wood, ..) Basically needs renovation - Carpet ugly/worn, needs replacement - Sliding doors need lubricant (external & internal doors) There were issues with the toilet and bathroom AC unit that we reported to Management. Thankfully the management company sent out a handyman immediately to get the issue resolved. For the price paid for this unit (~$350/night, which includes room rate & fees) one should expect a bit more of a professional image, even if it's not four or five star. The rundown appearance made me think that the owners/management didn't really care about maintaining the property well.

No sleep. Loud renters new clueless batch every weekNo sleep. Loud renters, new clueless batch every week. People sit on the common multi floor lanai and talk loudly while drinking till 3:00 am and longer. New batch of clueless morons every week. Usually quite down when you scream shut the hell up

Views are great. The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed. The grounds were well maintained. If you were brave you could climb down a ladder and be right in the ocean. If your not brave its just a short walk to a city beach. You could also just sit and watch the waves. Our room had beautiful views. There were beach chairs and beach toys on the balcony to use. It is gated building.

Peaceful, beautiful stay in the safest state in the USAI have stayed at the Diamond Head Beach Hotel four times now and will return again and again. This latest visit was for a month and a half in suite 701, a two bedroom unit with an awesome oceanfront balcony. I was attending to family business with my sister and this was a perfect home away from home, with guest host David just a text away from helping us with whatever we needed to be super comfortable. Two bedrooms rentals are rare in this area and it gave us the privacy we needed for a long stay together. The location and views are the best part of staying here. It's quieter, but still walking distance to the hubbub of Waikiki. Views are less obstructed than in Waikiki since this bldg is bounded by the ocean, Kapiolani Park, and shorter, quieter residential bldgs. You can leave your sliding doors and windows open day and night for the trade winds to keep everything at the perfect temperature, while the sound of waves soothes your soul. At 7:15 every night a conch blast heralds in the evening from the nearby Outrigger Club (you can see the canoes practicing from your bedroom window). 701 is a two bedroom unit with a full kitchen; I have also stayed here in a one bedroom oceanfront and two Diamond Head view studios in past years. They either had kitchens or a small fridge and microwave plus dishes and flatware. The units are extremely clean and come stocked with dish soap and paper towels, basic oil/condiments, and toiletries. Having a kitchen and fridge for my local food finds (I was born in Hawaii so that's important!) was priceless. Towels, beach chairs, an ice chest and a boogie board are provided for beach excursions. Kaimana Beach, a go-to for locals, is a 5 minute walk away. There is a coin/credit card laundry in the basement. Parking is available at an extra fee, but in general there is a lot of parking around Kapiolani Park, at least half un-metered (the meters run 10am-6pm), so we did not opt for on-site parking. The whole building is immaculately cleaned and maintained. It's securely gated (you get a fob for entry). Since it is a "condotel", the DHBH is one of the few condos that can legally do shorter (less than 30 day) rentals on O'ahu. My other stays were of one week and 3 days duration.
