  Nice accommodation, but don't leave your personal possessions behind you!

  Let me say, in the positive, that de Vos is a pleasant place to spend a week. It looks out on a beautiful beach, although the coral reef makes swimming in the sea difficult except at high tide. The hotel management is a little bit chaotic and my wife and I did have to change rooms after our allocated room was found to still be occupied on our arrival! That being said, the rooms we had were comfortable, the staff extremely pleasant, and there was certainly little to complain about given the price and the fact that we were primarily there to relax. Certainly we didn't go there expecting perfection. Unfortunately this review would have been far more positive if I had not managed to leave my camera behind on our last afternoon (entirely my own fault!). It's absence was noticed by me on our way back to Nadi airport. We brought this to the attention of our host, a de Vos family member, who was driving us in the hotel's minibus, and she was able to ascertain by phone that my camera had been recovered by the hotel staff. We agreed to continue on to the airport and leave it to the hotel to arrange the safe return of the camera to us in the UK. We provided our driver with our contact details and I agreed to reimburse any postage costs involved in its return. Since then we have heard nothing. I have made several attempts to communicate with the hotel via email (so far we have found 3 different email addresses!); none of which have produced a single reply. Two phone calls to the hotel, while answered, similarly yielded no useful information whatsoever. This all happened on 14th November 2019, it is now nearly Christmas, and I may have to accept that I will probably never see my camera again nor all my photos of New Zealand and Fiji taken over the previous 5 weeks. Needless to say, I am extremely sad about that. I am frankly perplexed by this wall of silence, as it implies to me that the hotel management, while not contesting their possession of my camera, seem unwilling to arrange for me to have it back. It leaves me asking why, and certainly raises some concerns around the hotel's customer service and communication.

  Picture perfect and more!!

  We stayed at the DeVos Private Residence for 10 nights with our 3 children (4, 6, 7). We loved our beach front bure. The kids could have spent all day in the pool if wed let them. We loved having the beach steps away and went on daily walks to the local pier or just to watch the baby sharks and starfish! The kayaks are provided free of charge, which is amazing! The staff is beyond amazing and will go out of their way to make your stay perfect and meet all of your expectations!! We definitely recommend to other families!!

  Never going anywhere else!!!

  I had the best stay at de Vos and was treated like a Queen. I was totally spoilt and loved every minute of my downtown in this perfect little luxurious spot on the beach. It was blissful to swim in the big pool each day and to relax with a book by it. The staff were fantastic and i found the food especially delicious. Charlie the dog was a friendly visitor and the kyaaking and paddle boarding with the (harmless) baby sharks and other marine wild life was an absoloute highlight. We were lucky enough to be there for a cultural fijian night with a food cooked in the ground and a buffet with a kava caremony. It was just fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our beach villa was fabulous and so large and the view of the ocean was spectacular. We loved every minute of our stay and will be back as soon as we can. Thanks for your wonderful service.

  Great hidden getaway

  We had the best stay at the private residence and enjoyed this place the most out of our whole trip in Fiji. Unfortunately we only got to stay a couple of nights here as we had pre booked our whole trip but we would have loved to have just stayed here the whole time! The villa's were very spacious and located right on the beach which was awesome sitting on the deck or in one of the plunge pools watching the sunset. There is a restaurant at the resort open to guests and the food was really good and very well priced especially compared to the other places we had tried in Fiji. The staff are amazing and gave us some really good tips which made it easy getting around. There is a bus top just 50m away and the best part was the local waterfall trip that was recommended by Sai. It is a lovely 30min walk through the tropical rainforest to a fresh water waterfall, even better the tripp only costs $40 fjd compared to $180 if you go with a tour. Our favourite part was the location and privacy of the resort! it is located right on the beach in Maui bay and there are other bigger resorts, cafes and restaurants within walking distance or a short $5 taxi ride away so we could go off and explore and see the bigger resorts and then able to come back to a resort that has privacy. We loved our stay and cant wait to come back to stay for longer on our next trip. Thank you to sowani, sai and annemarie for the amazing stay and hospitality we cant wait to be back!   Gorgeous with an amazingly friendly team

  We were lucky enough to stay in a bure facing the ocean with our two children (4 and 6). It was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. The snorkelling right out front was amazing with beautiful soft corals and lots of fish and was quite easy to explore with the kayaks and stand up paddle boards available to us. We were pampered with some of the most delicious meals we ever had and Chris, Annemarie and the rest of the staff were extraordinarily friendly and accommodating.
