    My room was amazing , clean and fresh.

    Lets start with the good stuff. 1. Its not the really bad Courtyard directly next door. 2. Front desk staff was amazing. 3 . My room was clean and updated. Best room I have stayed in , in a Marriott for months. 4 concierge area for breakfast - bacon and sausage!! Nice. Bad 1. Concierge area for happy hour and Dessert. The staff put out some white chocolate brownies but left the freshly delivered Blondie chocolate chip brownies on card even when i asked. 2 my co-writer was hassled over wanting milk before bed. The milk was in the cooler with the Water and the soda pop. When he took some he was told he couldnt have it because it was for the morning. He basically had to Tell the staff member stop me Over 900 Marriott stays and no one hassled him for 2 cafeteria milk cartons. Day two the worker locked the cooler door. He asked to speak to the Manager when the staff Member said it was the rules. Manager proceeded to say there were no such rules and my buddy got his 2 milks so he Could sleep. Just silly.

    Very Nice

    I have stayed here a few times for work and never been disappointed. Check in was easy and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. My room was very comfortable and clean. Had coffee maker and small fridge. King bed very comfortable, pillow a little too soft for me. Nice couch to lay a watch TV, nice work surface. Plenty of electrical outlets for devices. Bathroom, clean, nice shower, plenty of nice towels. Has bar and restaurant on site. My only complaint is if your on the higher floors the expressway noise comes early. I will request non hiway room next time. Would absolutely stay again when in area...

    Beautifully renovated hotel that is safe during the CoVID-19 pandemic!

    I stayed at this hotel while in Detroit due to its location near my family. My guest room was modern, clean, and had nice features, especially in the bathroom. The toiletries were "spa-like" and the towels were plush. There is free wifi and parking onsite. Despite traveling during the CoVID-19 pandemic, I felt very safe staying at this hotel and noticed lots of precautions. For example, there are plexiglass barriers at check in, hand sanitizer near the elevators, mandatory masks for guests and staff, and reminders to limit the number of people in elevators. Housekeeping does not come into a guest room until a guest has checked out (actually I found out later, not until after 3 days to keep staff safe). Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the lobby coffee bar is not open, and the restaurant has limited "take away" food hours. There is, however, coffee, tea, and a refrigerator in the room. FYI, no cash is accepted. Initially, tv service was limited to local channels and apps such as Netflix and YouTube, but cable channels were available by my last night. I'm not sure whether or not this was due to and increased number of guests. I would definitely stay here again!

    Experiential disaster.

    I have been guest before to the Marriot Southfield and confirm that it's fresh, well taken care of, with a fine pool. The rest of my review regards travelling under Covid times: My experience has been very poor. I left with a clear thought in mind: if Customer Service goes down so much, what it gatekeeping AirBnB from taking over Hotels' market shares way more than it did so far? My view is biased by being a Bonvoy Ambassador -my expectations are surely high. Check in: greeted by words that didn't correspond to real help: sorry-here, apologize-there. No efforts to offer a different room. No upgrade. sorry-here, apologize-there, "we're fully booked". Not true: the parking lot is half empty in this ghost place. And as Ambassador, I'd rather not to face the noisy highway, hallo? What is left of the hotel: no lounge, no restaurant, no breakfast. But the pool is open. No cleaning in the room during your stay. It is actually better than nothing. But you compared with other Bonvoy hotels that: - leave up to you the choice of getting room cleaning - give an alternate packet-take away breakfast or offer breakfast with no table service then you think some are creative, others prefer to lay off as much staff as possible to try and survive. I sincerely respect both options, but remain with the doubt: will the pleasure of going to hotels return, especially for families? Won't AirBnB wipe away all of these denials or deluded expectations of relax, of having things done for you? Needless to say, we left very frustrated with a clear sense of 'no more'. Final paradox: I had been requested to check in via the app. But then, why do I still have to pass by the front desk? The scared people behind the glass don't seem in the position to make you feel welcome and cheerful: they have only a list of negativity to pour on you as you try to hear them. They' do try to be kind, but all they have to tell you is how bad it is going to be. In time of Covid, the very check-in is an experiential disaster, not in this hotel, but in ANY hotel and makes you want to enter your room simply by interacting with a locker of a rented house. I acknowledge the dramatic situation of hotel managers and owners and employees, but I believe that many Customers now experiencing 'THIS', will not come back.
