  Relaxed, comfortable and good value

  We stayed for 5 nights as part of an opera package in August and enjoyed it. Unlike many of the boring tower block hotels, it has a relaxed early 20th century feel. The staff are generally pleasant, but look out especially for Francesca who is extremely helpful and speaks very good English (not that common in Pesaro). Our room was a huge attic which meant that the view was limited. Other rooms I glimpsed were a reasonable size with full length windows. You can see pictures on the website [--]. The room was spotless and everything, including the air conditioning, worked perfectly. The bed was large and comfortable and there was no noise at all. The TV in the room received only Italian language channels, but you can check Sky News in the comfortable downstairs lounge. There is also a very pleasant outside verandah for relaxing and the bar prices are reasonable. Breakfast was typical European fare cereals, bread, meat, cheese and sweet cakes and pastries. The choice was quite limited, but the quality and quantity were fine. We were pleased that we had a half board deal (we could choose whether to eat at lunch time or in the evening each day) because it gave us the chance to eat typical Italian food of high quality. We didnt need to try their restaurant next door (Polo) but it was always crowded, which promises well. We hadnt realised that almost everything in Italy closes for public holidays, but the hotel had laid on a boat trip to Riccione, aperitifs and nibbles on the quayside on our return and a huge 5 course Ferragosto dinner in the evening featuring fantastic local fish dishes and a spectacular dessert with fireworks! It was included in the price of our deal and turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. The hotel is well situated a 2 minute walk to the sea and a very good tourist information office in one direction, 5 minutes to the small but pleasant old town in the other. Its one of the best three star hotels we have stayed in. If we return to Pesaro (though apart from the opera, I cant see any reason why we would) we will certainly stay there again.

  Katerina on reception was very helpful. A short one night stay prior to a marathon in Fano. Took breakfast out as I had an early start. Parking can be difficult but in the morning all the cars had gone. Room, number 114 was fine. Shame there was no free tea etc.

  Very good value

  I stayed with friends at the Hotel Des Bains as it was the "sponsored" hotel for a sports seminar. Rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean, the staff was extremely helpful and the meals were tasty and gave us all the energy we needed for the day. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the beach but due to lack of time and cold weather we did not spend any time sunbathing and relaxing by the water. Parking was unfortunately not an option, the hotel's parking was full, but we managed to find a spot a few hundred meters away, so no harm done.
