  Very nice and very german hotel

  One is somewhat surprised the first time you visit the hotel because it has such a great location with such a beautiful view from both the restaurant terrace, the indoor breakfast room and from the room. It's really a nice view. The hotel is typically German, very well maintained and with good German food to fine prices. The food is very well prepared. The breakfast is is fine with relatively wide range. The room is really nice and clean, with super views of the big lake with sailboats, etc. We had a room with a fairly new shower and toilet and the only thing we lacked in the room was a small kettle so you can make a cup of coffee on room (in many other hotels is a small kettle) Hotel coffee is in fact quite expensive, but then the food is cheap :-) From you arrive, you feel really well at home, and the staff is top notch. The only thing one could wish for was that they could no more English, but on the other hand, it also made a charm having to try to speak a little German :-) I have read somewhere that you can not pay by credit card. This is not a problem today and the internet works fine. On the other hand, there is very poor telecommunications signal on the mobile phone and especially if you have a smartphone :-) But in short: The hotel is really nice with a good standard and we will gladly come again sometime.

  Pet friendly hotel with international staff

  The owner is a Belgian, and the daily manager is Libanese with a US citizen for wife. All speak German and English. The staff is informal (which I prefer) and (pet)friendly, also to foreigners. I stayed at the hotel for three days with my dog, and I had dinner there twice. Spaghetti was plentiful and inexpensive. For the second evening, I in advance had ordered steaks (not on the menu) for myself and two friends. The Libanese manager made an effort to make everyting nice including two delicious humus dishes on the side. Breakfast was also very good.

  A big disappointment

  The hotel has such a great location with such a beautiful view from both the restaurant terrace, and that Is almost the only good thing we can say about it. The hotel is typically German, kind of old with communist essence. It is not well maintained. The rooms and especially the tiny bath room was not clean enough. A nice layer of mold on the walls. The bed was squeaby. Very old furniture and bed linen. We had the feeling of neglected building. Dry plants in the flower box in the terrace which was quite dirty. The garden could have some attention. Breakfast was basic. No fresh fruits or vegetables. A small kettle in the room for making a cup of coffee could be very helpful. there is very poor telecommunications signal on the mobile phone. In short: The hotel is not really nice, low standard, we surly will not come again.
