    Long Weekend trip

    Easy check in, Clean accommodations, the only interaction with front desk at the end the stay was not pleasant, was given only 15 past check out time or else a $25, $50 or full fare was going to be charged, if the we didnt leave!

    unprofessional staff who look down on people of color

    first id like to state that there are a couple of great employees there. roseanne and carson are great. good, effective, and personable. in a stark contrast to that theres another employee that i wont mention by name who absolutely has issues with people of color. rather than being professional and explaining to me why she felt like i shouldnt have a room there she overspoke me, interrupted me, and embarrassed me in front of other guest. im a black american, and one who never bring up race as an issue because ive seen the good in everyone, but i must say this employee looked at me and spoke to me as if i was dirt on the ground over a balance due to her own negligience. prior to this encounter id stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and had only seen her in passing. i would speak and she would nod or not even acknowledge me at all. im a personable person which is why i know the front desk staff by name. i had just booked 2 rooms there the night before and was going to book again when she informed me there was a balance from a previous stay that she forgot to subtract. rather than allowing me to explain my point of this hotel holding several of my deposits which i assumed was for this balance she overspoke me, and basically embarrased me in front of everyone in the lobby. i didnt say much back other than the fact that by my calculations i was the one owed and if i did owe anything how have i been able to get a room there. i offered to show her my account statements, asked to speak with someone higher up but to no avail. immediately after i left this employee tried to get funds from my account 3 to 4 times in a matter of 5 minutes. this was immediately after me explaining to her that i havent been returned any funds from several stays. she managed to take another $30 before i blocked more transactions. it wasnt until i filed a formal complaint with corporate that i was reached out to where i could explain my side as well as hear their side to see if there was a resolution. and unfortunately theres still none. no one has apologized on behalf of that employee, no one has asked me why i feel i was untreated, and no one has been able to explain to me whytheyve taken $132 out of my account when usint their figure the rate was $99. id also like for anyone in this forum to tell me when theyve ever stayed at a hotel that they was supposed to pay for and didnt. thats the confusion. a lack of effort and a neglect of job duties due to this same employee forgetting to run my card when i told her id be staying over. everything else is secondary. none of the following events would have happened if she would have just did her job in the same manner as her unprofessionalism. so rather than me a solidly built tattoed black american get into argument at a 4 star hotel with a white woman in suburban colorado, i chose to leave. im sure some ppl wouldve stayed and argued their case, but i know the optics, and they were not in my favor. im still waiting so fellow bonvoy members, if i were to book at this property, id first call and make sure that carson or roseanne is there or at the very least that employee isnt there.

    Friendly, helpful staff

    The room was clean, the staff was always friendly and helpful. It was quiet during sleeping hours. The HVAC system was quiet and efficient. Even during this COVID-19 season, the breakfast was satisfying and tasty.

    Racist Staff

    To preface this, we got this hotel room for a night for free from my partners mother as nice gift and a change of pace from the loud environment we typically find ourselves in. We had her call ahead 3 times to make sure thee reservation was under my name as my partner is 20 and I myself am 22. We then called ahead 2 hours before checking in again just to make sure that there would be no complications because both my partner and I are not big fans of anxiety inducing situations. This how things began and I was confident that our one night stay was going to be a wonderful time, boy was I wrong. The moment we arrived we approached the front desk only for the receptionist to be rather difficult with us and state that our reservation did not exist, even though we had confirmed 4 times over that this was the right location and it was in fact under my name. We responded to this by moving off to the side and locating our email confirmation. After locating the evidence of our reservation we returned to the front desk to an even colder reception upon providing evidence that we had a room there for the night and then the receptionist finally acknowledged it and gave us our room keys with a experience akin to pulling teeth. My partner and I weren't sure as to why this happened so we asked her and she said the system was fine so it limited my reasons as to why this would occur. I know that this has something to do with the fact that I am African American and we are in an Interracial relationship but funny how I have to specify that to make any of this make sense. We proceeded to go up to our room and the room was ok, except for the fact that we were supposed to have hypoallergenic bedding because we are both allergic to down bedding. We then tried to call and ask for hypoallergenic pillows and blankets only to be left on hold for 20 minutes and nobody answered so we hung up anyways. This caused us a lot of discomfort as we were trying to sleep and the next morning we both awoke to pain in our eyes, the inability to breathe properly, and bodily discomfort in the form of itchiness. We went downstairs to order food and it was good and the bartender was AMAZING, and made us feel totally welcome. While I was at the bar ordering my drink I had my partner who is Caucasian (also stupid I have to say that) and the same receptionist who checked us in was kinder to my partner when I was not present while she enquired about the pool. When my partner asked about it the receptionist responded with "It depends" to which my partner responded with "Is the pool closed?" and the receptionist responded with "no" and my partner had to follow with "Can we reserve it then?" and the receptionist responded with "Sure" in a sarcastic tone, falling in line with her cold approach to us earlier. She said there would be towels for us in the pool waiting, to which we found none and had to use small ones from the attached gym. We took a hot shower and then went to bed only to be greeted in the morning by the discomfort that was outlined earlier due to both us being allergic to down bedding. Breakfast was good, and then we didn't leave our room until checkout at 4pm. We got down to the front desk and found the same receptionist who had repeatedly treated us poorly waiting to check us out where she was short with us, cold in speech, and speaking to us in a manner as where our very presence annoyed them. This would have been fine until we saw that a Caucasian couple went up to the front desk and were greeted with warmth like we had never seen in our entire stay. This is the point where I was fed up enough to ask to speak to management which I rarely do, the receptionist called the general manager, but we were actually met with the director of sales. There was no reassurance that this wouldn't happen to someone else. This Marriott has made it apparent that they are not inclusive or friendly to people of color like myself.

    Beautiful staff & Rooms

    My stay here overall was phenomenal. The staff was extremely beautiful and nice.. The room was spotless and luxurious. Starbucks was available in the morning. And it is right next to highway 36. Needless to say, I'm going to go back
